I can't believe they got rid of a coach this early in the season.

Not surprised... Too much talent to be 1-12.

ESPN reported that Phil was supposed to be in NYC doing an honorary speaker gig and at the last minute it changed to Alan Alda.
Come on Lakers, lets get Phil back. |

L.A. Times is reporting Lakers have contacted Phil and he's very interested in coaching the team. Take that information for what it's worth, but health and salary are a big concern.
They should get Phil, otherwise, I don't know who would be a good pick especially since Howard wants Phil to coach him. |

Lakers whip the Warriors, 101-77, to start the post-Mike Brown era.

lakers are a joke.
they fired mike brown and say it was the offense, yet they were ranked 5th in the league in offensive efficiency after 5 games. Their defense sucks and the parts dont fit well, not to mention their floor spacing is awful. they will be lucky to come out of the WCF.

Lakers trouncing the Kings at the moment, 88-66, in the 4th quarter.
EDIT: Lakers win, 103-90.... Next up: the Spurs at Staples on Tuesday.

Mike D will be a great coach for them to win now. Nothing complex for the team team to learn and get used to. As much as I am a Phil homer there are too many guys that don't know the triangle and the Lake Show doesn't have time to learn. They need to win now or Kobe is retired and Dwight doesn't re-sign.

Yup... Surprisingly the Lakers sign Mike D'Antoni as their new head coach... Everyone expected/hoped it would be Phil...

rofl.. Mike Antoni.. What a joke. One of the worst defensive coach in the history of the NBA. Sure, he might be a good offensive coach but defense wins games not offense.

Antoni is the total opposite. 100% offense with no single clue on defense. I would take Mike Brown over Antoni |

D'Antoni is not a good coach. Look, in Pheonix, with amare and shaq, it didnt work out. How can it work with Howard and Gasol in the paint.
Lakers are not a world class organization. Ever since they signed that half human Artest, I knew the Lakers were losing their hold as a well-respected and professionally-run organization. The manner in which they played Phil was very indicative of how poorly their organization is run. No doubt they should have signed Ariza who they never made in offer to instead of that clown know as Metta. What a joke. 11 time champion Phil was not hired, instead they got this weirdo Mike D. |
