I cannot stomach upwards of $1K for quartz. It's a nice fashion watch and that's about it, not a true timepiece.

I agree that a $1,000 for a quartz is absurd. There cheaper options are a little more justifiable

i wear a panerai just about every day, i have 2, the pam 111 and the pam088. No one knows what they are unless theyre watch people, otherwise it's not flashy at all..

I also have a navitimer world GMT that it super bright and shiny and that thing brings super attention.

This new watch from Breguet is gorgeous (IMO) and at 42mm will wear smaller, due to lugs and case shape. It is a bit more than a Tag, but probably in the area of the Panerai. Breguet is a very respected brand and this is their more popular line.

I wear my panerai 321 everyday and the only people that take notice are watch enthusiasts (who appreciate what it is) and women (probably because I sport a red alligator strap). This is the type of attention I welcome The rest of the population couldn't care less. Wear what you love and love what you wear!

The only watch I have that gets overtly noticed is my Breitling SuperAvenger with an airforce blue face. I am willing to bet that the only reason that even gets noticed is because of the size...48mm isn't exactly inconspicuous.

Heh. Nice. For the M2, you could maybe get a Patek Annual Calendar in Gold - maybe the 5960. For the Calibre 89 you could get a full set of M's in all years ever made. Hehe. Yes, including the M1.

Gotta say, kinda digging the Nomos. Those are two very different watches - not a likely comparison. I am not a huge Panerai guy, but I do appreciate them. The world-time complication is one that i like too. Hmmm... decisions decisions. And nothing is really sacrilege. We all like different things. A full-on fake... that would be sacrilege, but if you like a watch, that is what really matters.
