As the inventer got older and had the same problem, he updated the design with one side longer than the other one.

I find their water sprayer and spray a drop or two of water on my fingers.

I use that trick. Do not lick your fingers.

I still can't get many of them to open.

Even worse is tamper seals these days. Picking on ALDI, they put a cardboard seal under the cap of their yummy orange juice with a semi-circle pull flap to tear it off. The glue holding the cardboard to the bottle is stronger than the glue holding the pull tab on, so I'll let you figure out how that works out. They also sell bottled iced tea that's pretty good, and comes in bottles with tamper snap rings on the cap. Why, in the name of all things holy do they find the need to also put a PLA (corn plastic) shrink seal over the cap with a pre-perforated tear stripe that is impossible to tear without a razor knife? I'm old and have hand tremors, and the last thing that I should be doing is cutting a curved surface with a razor knife!!!!!

The almond milk brand we use has plastic twist off caps that you need a pair of pliers to open. Not sure why this company can't get it right like every other company that uses similar caps.

Wifey still has the card file cabinet in her office. I'd love to have it in my garage for nuts and bolts and so on.

I drink sugar-free Gatorade and those caps are hard as hell to get off. Why? I guess they expect you're an athlete so you want the challenge.

My Lazy Boy is a rocking, swiveling, recliner on a tile floor. This is not the ideal piece of furniture for desperate grabs when the room is spinning. One hand on an arm of this chair, and more than just the room is spinning. I have had some spectacular crashes, once knocked the chair over. My cats seem to think I'm hilarious. They don't even run anymore. But I know better.. they are waiting to feast on my dead body.

Meet Truffles (girl child with white markings), and her littermate Nudnik (Nudie). Nudie weighs 23lbs and Truffie 19lbs. This pic was taken some time ago as they turned 15 in June. They are pure bred Maine Coons, and my children. But they will still eat me.. I just know it.

Couple of beauties, there. For comparison, my cat weighs 9+ lbs. So I read Maine Coons can have extra digits. How about yours? I know this from reading about Ernest Hemingway‘s.

No extra digit on these guys. They don't need it. My wife and I used to refer to them as "the terrorists" when they were young. They were responsible for all new window and sliding glass door treatments throughout the house. We gave up on very expensive draperies, and went with industrial strength vertical blinds. As that eminent philosopher Tony Soprano would say.. "waddya gonna do"?

As for Hemingway cats. For my 6th birthday my mom and dad said I could have a cat. My dad needed to do a job in Key West, and my mom and I went along. While he was working she took me to see the Hemingway House. I had no interest in the house, but I couldn't keep my hands off the cats. There were lots of them running around. My mom tried to get me to leave them alone, and she apologized to the caretaker for my pain in the ass behavior. Can you imagine such a thing today? They struck up a conversation and "badda bing" the lady said I could take my pick. I named him Blackie (waddya want from a 6 year old), and he had 6 toes.
