Here's a great Internet question from a female TV show viewer last night. It seems like almost a weekly occurrence where police on the show find, um, adult toys while doing a probable cause search of a stopped vehicle. The question was whether officers ever search the battery compartments of these items, since it seems like a great place to conceal contraband?????

NYPD had two officers in Queens shot overnight, while attempting to stop a man on a scooter suspected in a robbery spree. Both should be leaving the hospital this morning, one thanks to his vest.

The 19-year-old shooter was also hit, and no surprise was riding an illegal scooter, carrying an illegal firearm, and his address was a Queens migrant shelter.....

Gangsters, thugs, etc. have migrated off bicycles and onto those motorized scooters, pocket bikes, etc. We have a huge problem with them here.

That wouldn’t surprise me. Expect an increase in criminal activity. We’ve just imported hundreds of thousands of migrants; many released from South American jails/prisons.

These same problems are happening here in urban areas, along with packs of roaming ATV/dirt bikes in both the city and countryside. Even here in my small town, the punks aren't afraid of the police or the consequences of operating a motor vehicle without a registration, insurance, or a helmet for that matter.....

Honest question. Based on what information are you determine this in terms of them being from jails/prisons? No doubt there is a significant influx of South Americans due to geo political issues such as crazy high inflation and violence, but I’ve seen no proof that these are people released from jails.

Anyway, thanks for keeping the LA streets safe! Truly appreciate it and know it is often a very hard and thankless job.

We get intel on these people (…and most have ID from their countries), plus, they are walking road maps as it pertains to their criminal involvement. We know which gang they are affiliated with (…many are South American gangs and they have tattoos that correlate) and we know they’ve been incarcerated. Gang members in jail LOVE to represent their respective hoods and they love to talk about the crimes they’ve committed. Also keep in mind we get info from the various federal alphabet agencies as well as the Border Patrol.

I absolutely understand the gang problem is real, I just believe there is a lot of conflating of information to paint all illegal migrants as jailed South American hoodlums. Just worry sometimes talking points from a particular political party are taking things out of context. Vast majority of migrants in LA are hard working people that just want a better life, in my personal experience. Of course, my experience and interaction is going to differ wildly from yours.

I never said all, but I did say many, and we were discussing criminal migrants specifically. I’m speaking about data I’ve seen being on this side of the line.
