I don't say this lightly - I would pay twice that for the classic cut. It is probably the best bottle of scotch I've ever had below a grand.

As Dry January comes to an end, I thought that I'd use a Secret Santa gift as a subject for a lighting experiment.

Wish I was buying this for myself. It was in a locked glass shelf under "rare and hard to find" section. 😆 Only one bottle left of the 2019.

It is good stuff. Maybe if your friend is a true friend, he/she will share some.

If he/she doesn't, maybe tell them they failed your little test and will not be receiving anything in the future from you?

And direct the monies you would have spent on that worthless friend to your friendly e-neighbourhood Joekerr?

There’s 9 bottles of the 2018 at my local spot... online reviews aren’t as high as yours Silent.. is there a difference of preference over years? I know it began in 2017..

It was more of a business thing. If it’s an actual friend they would definitely share.

Always up for new friends. So Macallan has the name which would make for a nice gift. Glenlivet is # 1 selling in US and has the age (18 vs 15). What to do?
Do you need new friends? Lol

I'm curious as to the feedback you get - I have never known someone who didn't think it was fantastic.

Perhaps? I do know that it differs pretty sharply from one year to another. It's not age listed, so who knows.

To date - it is my favorite bottle of scotch I've ever purchased - and I drink quite a bit of single malt scotch, lol - about a bottle every 10 days or so.

Runs about $120 a bottle around my neck of the woods.

I appreciate the info and will likely purchase a bottle, also around $120 here. I just wanted to make sure I got the "good stuff" with the variance in years. Did you know which year in particular you prefer?

Thanks!

Apologies - but I don't recall. Honestly though - it's priced in the same area as pretty much all cask strength - so very reasonable, considering the ABV% - get a bottle of both the 18 and 19 and see which you prefer?

The Dalmore 12 is probably my favorite especially for the price but I have also heard great things about the cigar malt. I haven't opened the king Alexander yet but I suspect that will be pretty amazing when that day comes.
