Happy Holidays. I remember working Christmas eve one time in the 90's. Domestic violence call at around 2300 hours. Husband gave the wife a smack for some stupid reason, we hook him up the wife goes crazy and attacks us so she gets pinched and then the two adult sons go off and attack us. Assist the PC 10-33 goes out and the punch up is on.

The whole family gets spoken too, lots of bruises all around and the whole family into custody for a Christmas morning bail hearing. Deck the Halls man.

During our recent flood, APPARENTLY a police cruiser went too fast thru a puddle and somehow damaged personal property. Social media blew up, and now everyone wants to make a claim against the city.

Too fast thru a puddle when responding . . . SMDH at the public.

California question. With the enactment of AB2773, has the state, courts, or unions provided a standardized Miranda-type statement to be used at the beginning of a traffic stop? Just curious.....

It’s ridiculousness. It’s not Miranda at all. It’s merely explaining why we pulled a person over when we make contact (….which is SOP for just about any cop on the planet; watch any body-worn camera video and you’ll see AB2773’s mandate already in play). It’s pointless legislation.

I was just wondering if something was officially scripted by CA on a card like Miranda, before the first court case is filed next Tuesday.....

Unfortunately California is run by idiots. lol! It’s as stupid and as poorly written as the “jay walking” law. Every knucklehead thinks jaywalking is legal now and it’s not. Law enforcement can still cite for 21955/21956 CVC violations.

Maybe they should write another law. One defining how the public reacts to a police interaction. Seems that would help a bit.

Keep noticing the mini bike thug problem, here it's 4 onto 1 of the cowards attacking 59 YO actor Ian Ziering who thankfully is fit and strong enough to fend them off.
https://www.dailymail.co.uk/tvshowbi...unscathed.html
Key note from Ziering ''As a citizen and a parent, I find it unacceptable that groups can freely engage in this kind of behaviour, causing fear and chaos, while the response from authorities seems insufficient''

I don't think we are seeing criminals using these mini-bikes in this fashion so much in North America, I could be wrong but it just doesn't seem to be a thing. However, it's just really a variation on criminality which is all too prevalent now.

Street robberies are up everywhere and it seems that law enforcement just is stretched too thin to be able to manage this type of crime in a meaningful way in a lot of jurisdictions. The whole "defund the police" thing has had significant impacts, that and the lack of interest to prosecute and punish these types of criminals.

Agree but there was no suggestion that criminals usually use these. why then are these mini bike gangs cruising around slowly in built up areas in the first place apparently not going anywhere in particular and when there's a problem they all swarm in like savages to pick on the unsuspecting victim.

It’s been a trend in ghettos in LA since covid when there was nothing else to do.

They race for $ and they organize rides downtown doing burnouts over city road markings intentionally. Then they advertise their activities here where they give each other accolades for said behavior.

https://www.instagram.com/rowdyminib...Q5ZDc2ODk2ZA==

It’s dangerous and criminal and the police do crack down when they can.

My question for LEO’s what do you do when you are off the clock and see someone driving erratically or worse?

How often do you see people who are engaging in criminal activity of some kind but choose to ignore it because you’re too busy, off the clock, not interested in getting involved?

This! I’m not getting involved unless it’s a preservation of life situation (…and even that intervention will depend on what’s actually occurring). Unfortunately, it’s all about career survival now and it’s not worth it to be a hero. It’s not worth my job, pension, etc. to help in this anti-LEO/odd political climate. People get fired for intervening.

Mobs of violent people are the reason a 6 round revolver doesn't cut it as a self defense tool.

What's with all the flash-mob robberies of late? Saw a bakery where someone backed a white vehicle thru the front glass, then the mob poured in like a swarm of locusts. Was the vehicle stolen for such an event? Guessing the RO had someone knock on the front door.

They’ve been going on for years, but now they are happening with more frequency because the penalties are lower. A crime like that used to result in significant jail time. Now it’s a mere slap on the wrist.

In Canada, where you are located, there are no specific laws regarding flame throwers, but they may fall under the category of prohibited weapons, which are illegal to possess, carry, or use without authorization³. Therefore, I would advise you to avoid using a flame thrower for self-defense and look for safer and legal alternatives, such as pepper spray, tasers, or personal alarms¹.

Well he is actually in Darwin, MN which seems about right for someone asking about the merits of using a flamethrower for personal defence.
