Lenny is awfully wide, he's big boned

He is just a big ball of fluff that leaves a cloud of fur in his wake.

Pretty happy with these after not shooting portraits for over a year with all the other work I had going on.

Those are nice portrait-style shots; I really like the processing.

Took the 7D MkII out for a spin today. It's *really* easy to rack up hundreds of shots with this thing on high speed continuous.

I had my 135L mounted, which is not the best lens for shooting butterflies (or any fast moving wildlife). But it did ok.

Pretty!

10FPS is addictive, but it's too fast you can customize the low speed continuous to anything you desire.

5FPS is usually pretty good except for butterflies. They're so quick even 10FPS doesn't keep up. I think if you shoot continuous in silent mode it's 5FPS by default. Good for timid birds.

Great butterfly Mark. That lens may be slow, but it sure is sharp.

I'm usually on 10-fps or single-shot Silent. Nothing in between.

Ain't it nice that we're not paying for film!!

With the size of the elk (even though Tule's are the smallest of them) they don't even bother looking up when a coyote is slinking around them in the park. With the deer, it is a completely different story. This stag was on guard and wouldn't take his eyes off the nearby predator, while his small herd grazed nearby.

Great white-tail buck shot Ed.

We have coyote take full grown bucks here in our park. I've seen remains and I've seen a buck after attack with its hind quarters chewed up badly.

Yeah I don't know that these coyote hunt in packs, or I have never seen them traveling that way.

And actually the herd at Point Reyes are Colombian black-tailed deer (or also known as mule deer). I only know this because I overheard a ranger giving a presentation. They had a huge controversy a while back about removing non-native species from the park.
