Why do you need apply to carry concealed if it is a constitutional/open carry state? Or I guess they kept that, because they can?

Typically Constitutional Carry only gets you rights in your resident state, Permit gets you rights in other states. In UT I believe the rights within the state are diff for CC vs Permit also, permit does get me free background checks when purchasing. Not sure if CC gets non residents rights in some states.

They kept the CCW option for people who want to carry concealed.

What apparently got the bill across the finish line and signed was adding incentives to get training to open carry. That's why the state is paying for the CCW class for everyone, since it is the only curriculum available to them. They also added clauses to other laws that add on more mandatory jail time for anyone who commits a faux pax while open-carrying that didn't take the CCW class.

As non-resident owners of property in SC, my DW and I will likely go for the training and apply for the non-resident CCW. Our current NY State unrestricted CCW permits have no reciprocity with any other state, and NY State does not grant reciprocity to anyone and will even arrest people passing through with pistols in trunk-mounted lockboxes or at the airports in TSA-approved carrying safes.....

I'm a firm believer in "Each One To His Own Choice". But I won't Open Carry, for the same reason I won't wear Gun Related Clothing, Headgear or have similar Stickers on My Vehicles. To me, it send a clear message to the Bad Guys.....Shoot Me First!!

I just saw another article that Louisiana has now also passed open/constitutional carry, and it goes into effect on 7/4/2024. That makes 29 states now, if my math is correct.....

This happened today...

I had a Holosun 407C on my M&P 2.0 9mm Compact...until the factory s&w screws supplied decided to snap in half with part stuck in the slide.

As a bonus, I now have a cut & swollen spot on my forehead where the optic hit me 🤣

Time to contact S&W...

They'll definitely say you over torqued it.
Happened on one of our Glocks. Glock was good enough to fix it for free. We just had to ship it in ($8). They paid shipping back.

I finally broke down and bought a Wheeler FAT wrench and redid all our sights with it and vibratite.

Would not surprise me. I bet it is because they use red loc tite on the screws they supply vs blue. I have installed many dots on pistols & never had one come loose forget about snap screws & hit me in the face

The pistol is on it's way back to S&W. Hopefully, they don't try to charge me for it.

They ignored the parts where I was injured because of it.

Also, curious to see if the 407C holds zero when I reinstall it

Very nice! I need a Staccato in my life. My favorite pistol to shoot suppressed is my Dan Wesson Discretion in 9mm and I can only imagine a Staccato would be even better. Someday I'll grab a P with a threaded barrel.

Have you heard they have been approving Form 4s in days this month?!?! WTF, yet still backlog of people waiting 6+ months, hoping my Dec gets approved soon. Days approval, gonna be hard to resist next free stamp or BOGO on things I want. Would think the manufacturers would do deals with the approval times, but will it last....

I have a form 4 from 3/18/23. Not sure what the heck is going on.
My dealer is going to call ATF and inquire.

I ordered 9 suppressors from him for work and they got approved in a little over a week.

I’ve heard the same about recent Form 4s, they got it good. My Wolfman took 275 days back in 2022… Ever since I got my Staccato, my glocks have been collecting dust lol.
