As for the horrible things she's been through, the song posted wasn't in relation, it was just a great performance about being in love with someone who is taken.

She was raped at the age of 12 outside her home, developed an eating disorder after it, and suffered anxiety attacks just out of fear of walking home from school. A lot of her music has tons of emotion in it, there's a reason her latest album received widespread acclaim and is on numerous year-end lists.

I gave it too much of a discussion already, I'm sorry, but I still can't help noticing you put is as if that was a worthy way to discover a girl's potential (it's tempting to ask if you helped your daughter to find out how talented she was ).
