Jaguar Ends ICE Model Production Before its Electric Car Replacements Are Ready
03/14/2024 Jaguar is seemingly sprinting full speed ahead to meet its goal to become an all-electric brand by 2025, as promised back in February of 2021. It’s three remaining internal combustion cars, the E-Pace, F-Pace, and XF Sedan, will end production by June of this year. The automaker’s I-Pace crossover is also ending production by the end of 2024, which could leave Jaguar without any cars to sell until the electric models are released mid-2025. Jaguar promises we will see the new grand touring car before the end of this year. The model will then be available for sale by mid-2025, with the second electric model arriving in late-2025, and the third in 2026. When Jaguar teased the EV GT in April 2023, the "indicative pricing" was hinted to be set at around £100,000, which equates to approximately $127,000 at today's exchange rates. https://www.hemmings.com/stories/jag...el-production/ Considering Jaguar's I-Pace issues, It may be time to short Jaguar's stock. The great mark that provided us with disc brakes, the timeless Jaguar E-Type, great racing heritage going out with a hmmmmm. |

Had to post this because it shows how far the insanity has gone.
2025 Dodge Charger EV Could Feature Fake Engine Vibrations We’ve heard about fake exhaust tips and engine noises being implemented into electric vehicles, but there’s still something missing on electric muscle cars: the bone-rumbling feel of a V8 engine at full-throttle, or even at idle, for that matter. According to a patent filed by Stellantis, the new Dodge Charger EV will imitate the engine vibrations of a V8-powered muscle car. Mopar Insiders recently discovered the filed patent, which was submitted earlier last year. The new system is called Active Vibration Enhancement (AVE) and emits fake vibrations to mimic the rumble of a V8 engine by using a force generator that transmits vibrations to specific points on the vehicle. https://www.hemmings.com/stories/dod...ne-vibrations/ What's next, fake Oxides of Nitrogen (NOx)? |

EV startup Fisker prepares for possible bankruptcy filing, WSJ reports
March 14, 2024 March 13 (Reuters) - Electric vehicle startup Fisker (FSR.N), opens new tab has hired restructuring advisers to assist with a possible bankruptcy filing, the Wall Street Journal reported on Wednesday, citing people familiar with the matter. The company has hired financial adviser FTI Consulting and the law firm Davis Polk to work on a potential bankruptcy filing, according to the report. Fisker declined to comment. Earlier this month, Fisker flagged going-concern risks, job cuts and a pause in investments into future projects until it secures a partnership with a manufacturer. Nissan was in advanced talks to invest in Fisker in a deal that could provide the Japanese automaker with access to an electric pickup truck, Reuters reported earlier this month, citing two people familiar with the negotiations. https://www.reuters.com/business/aut...ts-2024-03-13/ To bad, innovative technology and beautiful packaging. |

The last Fisker attempt was real bad, bad mog for a hybrid system and ridiculous compared to their competition. Ive seen a few of them out in the wild…but it was never a serious company. Gotta separate the ones out there just serving to separate investors and their money vs. ones with viable products and business models.

Waste of Money? - Toyota Prefers Paying Fines over Investing in E-Cars
03/14/2024 More than half of all new cars should be electric by 2030, according to the US Environmental Protection Agency (EPA). But the auto giant Toyota doesn't want to follow suit, believing that a maximum of 30 percent of new registrations will be electric cars. In a conversation with the magazine Automotive News , Toyota's US boss, Tetsuo Ogawa, explains how the company wants to position itself in the electric car sector in the US. The focus, he suggests, should primarily be on customer demand, not on regulatory requirements. For the EPA to reach its goal of over 50 percent electric cars, the government is planning penalties for high CO2 emissions. Ogawa, however, considers the prescribed target unrealistic and therefore might produce fewer electric cars than required. Instead of over 50 percent, the automaker might only reach 30 percent. From 2030 on, this could be associated with high penalties. In the interview, Ogawa explains that the company would rather accept the fines than "waste" money on investments in electric cars. The focus would always be on customer demand. If interest in electric mobility increases, production of electric cars at Toyota in the US could also increase accordingly. At the same time, the automaker from Nippon announced the return of its Land Cruiser series to the US market. However, the new 2024 model is smaller and narrower than its predecessor. In addition, two new electric cars are to expand the range in the future. Toyota's Chief Branding Officer Simon Humphries recently emphasized the company's efforts to explore new mobility approaches. These include hydrogen cars and new filter concepts that can absorb CO2 from the air while driving. Suddenly I'm proud to be a Toyota Owner. |

There's a new BYD, I think it is around the corner from me. They look the same as MG ones. Anyway, I'll ask owner or leaser of it how much it costs to insure if I bump into them on one of my power walks..

For the cause? I'm not so sure, an airport worker has said a Tesla in a long term car park erupted in flames and destroyed 11 other cars around it.
More cars were destroyed at a salvage yard in Rochford when an EV erupted in flames taking other salvage cars with it, it's not known if the EV was salvage or not. The big question from the speaker is would you park your gas car next to or anywhere near an EV in a multi storey car park? As Inspector Callahan says in Dirty Harry 'you've got to ask yourself one question, do you feel lucky''? Last edited by M5Rick; 03-15-2024 at 03:54 PM.. |
