I had to look it up. I’m pretty sure that’s Pat Henry. There were several others on the dais we didn’t see. https://m.imdb.com/title/tt0556452/f...?ref_=m_ttfc_3

I love watching those roasts!!

It's Merv Griffin.

Good memory on the rest of them. I thought I might be the only one who knew them all. Great stuff.

It does look a lot like Merv, but it’s Pat Henry.

Thank you for the correct response.

I'm old enough to remember Foster Brooks, and saw George Carlin at least a half dozen times, as well as all-time greats like Buddy Hackett, Rodney Dangerfield (many times), Don Rickles (4 times). Great memories.

The roasts of the 60's and 70's were some of the funniest TV ever produced. It was an era of comedic genius. The other shining star of the day was the Carol Burnett show. I still re watch both to this day. No one since could share a stage with these folks.

I think I posted somewhere not long ago about the Carol Burnett show. OMG, the Tim Conway skits. Hilarious. They can't write comedy anymore. And so much was impromptu.

Did you ever see the Twilight Zone episode with Carol Burnett? Was good.

Cavender Is Coming

"Inept guardian angel Harmon Cavender is given a chance to earn his wings by helping an unconventional big city woman, the young, awkward Agnes Grep."

Aired in 1962.

Love those old Twilight Zones.

I remember first seeing Carol Burnett on Gary Moore's show I've Got a Secret in either the late 50's or early 60's. She was a panelist and a relative unknown, but already her comedy chops were apparent. I later met one of the contestants I remembered seeing on the show when I began training with her for my commercial; instrument; multi engine; and flight instructor ratings. She was Mary Gaffaney, one of the most famous aviatrix's of all time. She did it all, and knew them all. We spent a lot of time in aircraft together, and when I brought up having seen her on the show she laughed and said she was scared to death but that Carol Burnett had been more than kind to her and went out of her way to help Mary get through it. I consider both of them to be stand up broads.

And in case I may have triggered a couple of humor challenged young un's out there.. this is a high form of respect and affection. Now grow up; get a life; and get off my lawn.

Two great ladies in one story. I think I remember seeing Mary Gaffaney fly her Yellow Pitts Special at airshows. I've watched many youtube videos of aerobatics so my mind is fuzzy if I saw her in person or not. Nevertheless, she was one amazing pilot. It must have been something special to have spent time with her.

Carol Burnett was always one of my favorites back in the day. I had know idea she had been on I've Got a Secret. That's to The YouTube, here's a link to one of her episodes on the show. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PwY3coss1Bg&t=305s
