Just arguing this post for the sake of arguing, I don't really care. But, the world will be fine... it was never about the world. It's about trying to preserve the status quo while riding a roller coaster.

Honestly, I agree.

When you look through our history we have stories of these environmental changes we blame on God's and their wrath. There's historical evidence that the black sea flooded rapidly creating stories of the great flood. The entirety of Doggerland sank underwater within human history.

Humans have spent so much time and energy and money developing areas that are on large bodies of water that are massively at risk of flooding. We KNOW the Earth changes temperatures over time, and we KNOW sea levels were at one point so high that the Great plains of the US were an inland sea, and at one point so low you could walk from Africa, across to Europe and Asia, and then on over to North America and South America. This is irrefutably known. But modern humanity requires the climate to be essentially static, because our investments are in risky locations. Nobody wants to have to adapt to a changing climate, but we will have to.

The greatest hubris of humanity is thinking that we will prevent a naturally occurring cycle from happening to preserve our status quo. But we have all manners of charlatans lining up to fleece us for massive amounts of money

Sorry, while I am not a greenie, I am fairly certain actual greenies who aren't announcing their outrage to the internet (or just Greta) probably know this, it is not them that needs to be educated on how to save the environment.

It's those in power, paired with the billionaires who sells the idea that eliminating CO2 as some silver bullet to solve all of the world's problems rather than try and tackle the multitude of issues. And the distracted and complicit general public, who has no energy to really care outside of their bubble that is more to blame.

Emission is something they can see and it is tangible. Great Pacific Garbage Patch, mineral extraction of all kinds, world hunger, child labour, clearcutting of old grove, microplastics, toxic waste, bleaching of corals, all of these and more, are not within the general public's scope of vision.

Out of sight, out of mind.

Do you mean why are people selfish? I'm don't know what makes you think they are? I care deeply about the environment. I had a project of a solar car back in one of my engineering classes.

The issue isn't whether people care about the environment or not, it's about what's really going on. Our politicians are actually doing more harm than good in the false narrative of protecting the environment when it's really about more power and control. They don't give a damn about the environment.

I have a question for you and those who think like you do. When are you going to open your brain, use some common sense and see what's really going on and stop thinking like road kill?

Talk about out of context. Environmental pollution that can cause cancer is separate from what are believed as green house gas emissions that affect the climate cycle by altering the natural energy absorption/dissipation of the Earth's atmosphere.

That is what aggravates me, I get preached to constantly to "believe the science" when most of the preachers don't understand the effing subject matter.
