+1.....Frankly most people on this forum couldn’t tell the difference in handling performance from a track or “canyon run” perspective from cars of this ilk. These are technically trained drivers with years of experience that make these type of comparisons and know how drive cars at their limits. I know I could never drive a M3 or Mustang back to back and tell anyone definitively which one is better, other than a uniformed, technically deficient opinion.

The 2015 Mustang is really nice and says a lot of Ford’s effort to move their cars forward.

I really don't see a huge gamble here. The car is restyled and still looks like a Mustang but also follows the new Ford design language started with the Focus. I'm a bit over the Austin-theme myself, but it seems to be playing well in the market, so I can't see an issue with the new design. The chassis offers 3 engine choices, 2 transmission choices, and 3 trim levels, and a convertible version. You already have a lot of people bitching about losing the rear live axle, and before we are so quick to call them morons, there's a time and a place for live axles. It allows you to drive like a hooligan easily, and the Mustang is a fun car. The turbo-four is just blasphemy to the old Msutang loyalists as well, as they're complaining about turbo lag, lack of reliability, etc. All of this negativity comes before anyone has actually taken a test drive.

I personally think it looks great, and if it was available 10 years ago, I would've gotten one, as home ownership, property investment, and kids don't allow you to buy with much emotion these days

I think Ford will do well with its current and future lineup. The Aston theme is a bit overplayed, but it works for them. Beats the hell out of that triple-slat grille theme they had going, or better known as Jaws from 007.

It'll do fine. With the extra low end grunt, it's a ton of fun. Think the N54 or N55 that revs higher and that N/A.

Other than going to an independent rear suspension, I'm not seeing much of a drastic change other than the design language of the front, which was expected. I would of bought Gen 5 chassis had it been delivered WITH an IRS, like it should have been IMO. Ford catered to all the drag racers and switched the Gen 5 chassis from an IRS (the Gen 5 chassis as was based off the then period Jag X-type floor pan) to the live axle.

Love the new look. I'm still looking forward to the next gen Camaro. It will sit on the ATS's alpha platform and I think it will be the best bang for buck as far as performance.

Heh, haven't looked back one bit... And the S550 will have IRS, big improvement.

I do miss one thing, I had such a close relationship with my SA, now I don't even know his name. Even with the SRA, it moves. In a straight line and around corners. Give this car a square setup and you can point and shoot like no other. It's a different kind of handling from the BMW but IMHO much more fun and that sound.... Look, the new 3s are awesome and I've always been very impressed by the 3er's handling (E21, E30, E36, E90 were previous cars which mostly I loved), but the Mustang had a car that was perfect as much as possible around the "antique tech". They didn't pull a Porsche but they are very capable and fun cars.

Yes the door cards suck. Base stereo sucks. Midcorner bumps suck. If you hate retro styling, that sucks too. The remote shifter sucks even though easily rectifiable. If you like cloth, you can get it. These Recaros are just amazing. But to think I got this for ~60% of what I got the E90 for.... And mods are cheap, repairs are cheap (I only know because I've looked them up, not because I've had to pay for them), DIY is easier in general, knowledge more plentiful, less of a cookie cutter mentality amongst its owners.... I could go on but this is a BMW site and my argument is invalid.
