We decided to stick with concrete tiles so now deciding on color. Wife likes the charcoal gray color (and I do too), but I am a little concerned about blending in a new house color (will get it painted e once roof is done), between the roof and pavers. No interest in swapping out driveway or patio pavers and think we’d need to paint the house gray with white trim since we don’t want a house painted all white and not sure what other color works. Think the dark brown color gives us more options, but admit she is better visualizing color combos than I am. Thoughts?

I like grey on a roof, pretty much regardless of house color.

Plus, for holidays you can project images better on grey than brown.

The gray would be relatively neutral and attractive for future potential buyers. Alot depends on house color yall are aiming for. Many trends are associated with light house exteriors with dark roofs for contrast.

We decided on the dark gray roof tile. I think that will allow us to either paint the house light gray or a beige (again) to better blend in with the driveway and patio pavers. Thanks for the feedback!

I'm interested in seeing the finished work on your dark grey roof tile house. My wife and I are currently planning a similar trip. This is still in the discussion stage. My buddy just restored his home and installed slate roofing. When we travelled there for Thanksgiving, my wife (and I) fell in love with the roofing, so we went to the market to see what slates were available. I was smitten by the black slate roof, while my wife was smitten with the green slate roof. Which colour do you think will be more popular among these?

What is that existing roof shingle you have?
I really want to get that once it's roof replacement time (might be sooner than later)

They are concrete tiles (new ones made by Boral), not asphalt shingles. You’ll need to pick a roofer first and see what they source and install. Still waiting for tiles with no ETA (ordered a week or so before Christmas). Might be waiting a while.

Thank you. I'll go look those up.

I hear you - due to the supply chain issues and what not, wait times are out the window, unfortunately.

Direct from Boral or through supplier?

I recommend calling Boral directly and let them know you're wanting to know the next anticipated production run for the style you chose.

My current house is in the DC area, and during a recent renovation we had the roof deck insulated with spray foam, and the attic turned into conditioned space. Roof is high grade asphalt shingles that were installed about 18 months ago.

Temps in the attic stay very close to the 2nd floor house temp, so the insulation seems to work very well. Our A/C unit and all ducts are also in the attic, so it works better than before.
