Sorry for being totally off topic but title of the thread reminds me the Trivia Question by Cadillac (NHL related thing )

S/he's trying to be funny. Anyway, not making much sense though since s/he's implying those 2 products are obsolete for some strange reason.

Is this thread really happening?

tranquility Tx- thanks, pt - point, ftn - function. Just trying to help in case you didn't know.

Also need to wash hands after washing dishes and require gloves to wash dishes? Is this more so to protect your acrylic nails?

And to chime in, I use brushes with handles. They are kept in a drawer next to my sink. Use the brush, it goes in the dishwasher with the dirty dishes I used it on. Simple, no clutter and no visual mess of any kind. Also no dish rack to take up counter space or be unsightly. Dishes get washed in the dishwasher and promptly are put away.

Are you going to ask us next if we wash our feet after we shower or bathe?

Ofc it's happening and it has garnered good discussion being 3 pgs thus far.

I like to be efficient when typing but you can stick w your longhand. I'm not writing a legal opinion here. Get w the prg, many ppl use shorthand esp when typing on the internet.

Also, reread what I have written: the reason I wear gloves is not because of some crazy accusation that I have dainty hands, I just don't want to wash them after washing dishes and conversely, we dunno if our hands are dirty, have stuff underneath nails, etc, so it's probably more hygienic to use them as well. Unlike that other poster, I don't think one's uncovered hands are magically clean after washing dishes, that's just silly thinking, never mind having to dry them at the very least vs simply just whipping off the gloves, the end.

...and you should indeed wash/scrub your feet when showering/bathing, it's common sense but apparently not too common judging by some of the responses here.

Not sure why some ppl have attitudes and wanna display their grumpy personalities, if you don't like the thread, walk away...that's what I would do, I don't wanna hear anyone's snippy negativity, esp after my already giving fair warning w the title as to what to expect. Luckily, there are others who gave good advice despite these ppl.

Yeah, I'll stick with my longhand. Internet or not, I like people to understand the message I'm conveying, not guess at what I'm explaining and I like to look like I'm intelligent enough to spell....or at least intelligent enough not to fight autocorrect or spell check to shorten words. I wash my feet in the shower, I just figured you might need a post shower foot wash since your feet actually touch the floor after they've been washed.

You caught hell in the thread as most people don't put so much effort in worrying about the cleanliness of their hands after washing dishes enough to start a thread about it. We aren't grumpy, we are trying to get you to see how asinine this topic is. You can make a title of a thread say anything, but we are still going to give each other shit. It's kinda what we do here. Also, I'd be more inclined to wash my hands after wearing rubber gloves than not. I'd also be very inclined to give any man shit who washes dishes with gloves on. Man card instantly revoked.

Was my brush method not a good enough option to be considered? It works for me. I figured if you didn't have to submerge you hands in water at all, there would be no need for a sponge, glove or rack, etc to house said sponge. If want our advice, you're going to have to sift through the shit we give you to get it, but it's there.

Don't take any offense here, we all give each other shit man.

Naw, you obviously understood what I wrote and like I said, I wanna be efficient, I'm not writing formally here on the 'net. I usually write intelligible enough but if that's not good enough for you, so be it. As for your strawman shower scenario, um, no, I just wash and dry off like a normal human being.

I "caught hell" only from the grumps and ppl who can't read properly. First of all, this thread was about the placement of sponges/etc being an eyesore for me and what to do about it...not sure why it went into dishwashing gloves discussion and all kinds of nonsense. As for the 'man card' thing, you might wanna look into possible latent homoerotic tendencies (not that there's anything wrong w being gay), I'm secure in my manhood that I couldn't care less about what some others may think esp in the sanctity of my own home (wearing dishwashing gloves somehow makes me switch sides? what??), yet you somehow equate it to prancing out in public wearing the most effeminate attire and heels. Look in the mirror, there may be a Queen Rudi in there somewhere lol. EDIT: that military guy in American Beauty comes to mind lmao

Sure, the brush is good but how many do you need to have then, I'd need to get 2 or 3 and depending if they are as good as the silicone sponges, they may not last as long. I do prefer the directness of a sponge as using a handled-sponge doesn't apply enough torque in some needed situations.

Some ppl really need to take a course in tact. It's much better esp since I'm not buddy-buddies w some ppl here. Sure, ppl can dick around w their best friend but how would you converse w someone you just met, act the exact same? Cmon. In any event, I can take joking sh*t if ppl put some funny emojis or whatnot and I know that they're joking but seems like some ppl are strangely put off (god forbid shooting the sh*t on the OT subforum! GASP!) and took srs issue w this topic as if their religion/politics/ethnicity was attacked. Hilarious.

Who knew that a thread about a dishwashing sponge would make me go home to ponder my sexuality. You've even been called out by a female about washing hands after washing dishes, does this mean she needs to question her sexuality too?

I'm just yanking your chain based off what I read in your posts. Don't take offense to it. I've been catching hell on here since I started my account. Take it and give it back, then laugh about it.

To answer your question on brushes. I have 3. I don't spend a lot of time at home. I work 50-60 hours a week, I'm at the gym for 1-2 hours a night 5 days a week and a girlfriend that I see every night. Efficiency is key as I have no spare time for anything. I also do not cook often as I live alone, aside from when the girlfriend stays over. It's more efficient for me to eat take out - less trips to grocery store, food spoilage, clean up, time cooking, time doing dishes, etc. Protein shaker bottles, cups and random silverware is typically all that gets dirtied. By the time I have two shakers and some silverware to clean, use a brush, pre-rinse, load the dishwasher and toss the brush in. I do this 3 times a week. Sunday, the dishwasher is finally full and I complete the cycle. I understand the aesthetic side of things and efficiency, I'm a 5S/Lean Manufacturing guru. Everything being clean and organized is what I get paid to do.

Also something to consider. Most of us come here to pass some time, have good conversation and divert attention throughout our day. With the current topics of conversation leaning toward the side of not much meat on the bone to discuss; yes, we take our conversations as seriously as we can on here. Point being, there aren't many great topics to discuss on here as of late so when something new pops up, it's like a feeding frenzy to have something new to discuss.

I gave you a great solution for your sponge. You said so yourself. You brought the gloves up and asked where to put them with a . It’s all fun until someone takes it seriously. My responses all had LOL in them which means I’m busting balls. That’s what we do here.

To make up, somehow just had a thought of doing that Ghost scene w you but instead of pottery clay we have a mtn of greasy dishes. You can come w your commando hands while I'll be equipped w my 'manly' gloves....oh, Queen Rudi can participate if he/she/it wants to or could stand nearby giving his/her/its best rendition of Unchained Melody.

If things haven't heated up, it sure has now.

@ Laura's commando hands. oh.....I'm dying over here. Bravo. Well played.

Side note: I did actually get to watch The Righteous Brothers perform Unchained Melody live from about 15 feet away; front row and center. One of the highlights of my life.

Hilarious.
Best thread ever. I thought I had some good ones

What did Doc do, other than make a reference to a Seinfeld episode no one got?
Thanks for the olive branch but I bet Patrick Swayze (sp) doesn’t wear gloves to wash dishes. . We’re good.
