Look at the top 25 films from last year then tell me how much sense your comment makes.

Who said he can't be white? He's been white for almost 60 years. What's wrong with mixing it up a little bit? I think Idris is a perfect fit for the role. I actually found the Daniel Craig era nearly unwatchable and completely lacking the charm of the character. Put Idris in the role and see how it goes. We've had short-lived tenures in the past so if it does work they can certainly move on to another actor.

Why couldn't James Bond be black? There are lots of black folks in the UK, I would reckon there are even some working for MI-6 today.

Purists had a hissy fit when Craig was cast because he was blonde. They got over it, they'll get over this, too (if it happens).

I have a serious feeling this is all about dollars and cents.

Black Panther was a resounding success, and it is well documented that part of that was due to its appeal to the black community. The producers of 007 have a hunch they will be able to capture an entirely new demographic of followers if they cast him.

It makes sense from a business perspective. The Bond loyalists, which there are many, will watch every movie no matter who is cast in it. At the same time, they'd attract a new community of fans as well.
