If she talks to you because you have a BMW (an x3 that is... no offense but literally nothing special)... then dump her ass. What a waste of time. Cant believe people even entertain females like this. |

1. Love is worth it. Though a mere 5 minute walk from my now wife in college, we lived over an hour from each other at our respective homes.
2. I drive 1 hour 20 minutes every week day one way for work. |

I just kinda skimmed your first post ...
This relationship isn't for you. Sorry to be blunt but, You're putting a replaceable car above a life and future together. That alone says much about priorities. In a love situation the replaceable things don't matter and nor does the money. You'll do whatever it takes to further the relationship. I don't see mention of her driving to meet you. This sounds more like a booty call than a relationship of equals, and both putting in equal work. Now granted you're just asking about the car stuff and I don't know any further than that. But keep what i say in mind still. It's not up to you do drive the relationship and do everything and her to just be. |

Be very careful. I too used to drive a ton of miles for the GF. Racked up some serious miles. Maybe 2k miles a month. Now we are married. Was it worth it ? Jury still out.

You go see her one weekend. She comes and sees you the next.
Not only is that fair, it also shaves 50% off your miles. Done. |

Not clear if this thread is about relationship advice, or if an X3 can be driven high miles

You live in Seattle and your GF lives an hour and 20 minutes away? So basically she lives in Bellevue, right?

I've done worse. Back in 2002 when I had a new 2001 Honda S2000 I used to drive 6 hours round-trip to see my girl, once a week. I hated putting the miles on the car, but at the time it was a big part of my personal identity (sorry), and direction in life. It's what I wanted to project. It was also fantastic to be in the car with her with the top down going to dinner, or just for a drive.
Happy to say that long-distance relationship didn't work out (like most). If you really care about this girl then there will ALWAYS be another car, so forget all the other things, they can be replaced. True love is irreplaceable. |

OP should just relax and not over-think things. Drive the car you enjoy driving, we're all supposedly driving enthusiasts, right? I have over 255,000kms on my Z4, it's an amazing GT for everything, including long distances...not sure what the other guy's talking about, he must be made out of tofu lol. |

This.
OP, life is short. Stop trying to "preserve" your x3 and just drive it. Isn't that what you purchased it for?

Sell the Mazda and then rent a car for the weekends. It will also give you the ability to test drive anything you please.

Sure love is worth it but relationships should be mutually beneficial, not one where one person gives everything and the other takes. I can go to Target for that.

my long distance relationship had a 11 hour flight and 8 hour time difference, do not condone LDR
over the summer the girl i was hanging with was from the north suburbs, about a 40-45 min drive with empty roads. that felt like a drag and i like driving a big landyacht on illinois highways unironically i'd argue bringing up the point of her coming by you some time. if she's adamantly against it (also serious question, do women still pull the "why mazda why not bmw" shit when they're older?) it's download tinder time my guy |
