The fact that we have started a world wide fad is not all that surprising. Between the chickens, the 9 iron, the 18 cases of silly string, 5 gallon drum of pure Canadian maple syrup...., that was by far the craziest night of my life. Still pulling feathers out of me bum to this day.

Either way, I'm still angry with you both. That was a private moment. OUR private moment.

So after the last place I was working at went under I saw it as an opportunity to finally end the cycle. I took a big pay hit for the first few months but now just a little over a year in I can pay all the bills and still have some left over and I have never been happier. I love being able to work when I feel like working. If I want to work at night and just enjoy a gorgeous day I can. If it's raining and nasty and I have nothing better to do than bang out some work then that's what I do.

I flew out to CA at the end of last year and spent a few weeks with my friend working from there. Then in Feb traveled to Europe for the first time and spent 2 weeks in Spain again working from there. These are things I could of never done while working a full time job as usually I was lucky to have 2 weeks vacation for the whole year. I'm now focused on living my life and getting some work done in between instead of vice versa.

Time > Money

I'm realizing there is a huge problem with the expectation of our society. We're all expected to go to college and get a job with a huge company and be set for life. But no one tells you that it's a life hardly any of us want. We were all so caught up in doing what was expected of us, we never thought to do what we wanted. This forum may be an exception to that rule or it's filled with a shit ton of slackers posting all day from their life sucking cubicles, but in general, i believe that's a fair statement.

I think about the things i get the most enjoyment out of these days and i tell you, i don't need all the crap i have in order to do the things i enjoy most. I just need food, shelter, my health and a small amount of cash. Now, i like to work, as in create things or help people in some way, etc... and there is certainly nothing wrong with working hard. But we need to be teaching the youth of today to work to live rather than live to work.

No offense to those people with loads of drive who take pleasure in killing it all day and night at work. Our society needs all types.

Haha..funny you remember that. Went with a basic good neighbor fence because that is all the neighbor would go halves on. We wanted a lattice topped one with alternating boards to match the fence at the back of our house and his house but he said he could care less what the look is.

We were willing to put in an extra $500 for the upgraded fence but since he didn't want to go nicer we were not going to put in an extra $1000 as our part was already $1800. His insurance covered most of his part but our insurance would not.

So, I made a deal and asked if all the boards could face our direction instead of alternate, since he " didn't give a fuck how it looks." He agreed so we have a bad neighbor fence. It looks fine and is on the side and relatively unseen.
