Japanese crap? Man, we got another BMW snob over here. BMW's are definately not all that. Audi's? Even less so because you feel like you're driving an Accord with them. BMW's depreciates like crazy, but atleast its a seemingly fun ride until you touch a real sports car (re: 997, Cayman, Corvette Z06, etc.).

I agree with your thesis not to denigrate other cars - IMHO I do not like Japanese cars but that is just my opinion. However, you are wrong on one issue - BMWs do not depreciate fast at all - in fact they are (along with Porsche) one of the top brands for value retention (and that includes MINI).

Audi.....that's another story

Please don't compare. If you want mostly HP's and electronic equip't, then maybe , but don't disregard the Acura which are most propably more reliable and better built. Otherwise, BMW is in a trend of its own.

As I said before I was going to test drive it at the dealership, however the salesman informed me that the manager took it out for a spin and broke the shift linkage on it.....so now they have to wait for a new part from Japan.

Anyway I guess that speaks a lot for the quality of the vehicle, or the driving skills of the manager.

In comparing the two vehicles more closely, I found the MazdaSpeed6 to be nicely built, however it felt like every other Japanese car.."No soul". For some reason when I drove the 330I everything about it felt like it was built for drivers. I failed to mention that I drove the 330I a number of times, because a few months ago I almost bought a G35 coupe, however I'm glad I didn't..

The only reason I looked at the MazdaSpeed 6 was because it seem to have every feature that I wanted in a BMW, except for "identity"...and I don't want to drive a car that needs explaining.

Due to this incident I have decided to go with the 330I Sport Package, SG colour.

Thanks for everyone's input!

Congrats. I know what is Mazadaspeed 6 - a tuner version of the 6 very sporty looking and we have seen a few here mostly yellow color. Nothing against Mazda until you compare it side by side with a E90 I love a Mazada if they were RX7,RX8 and MX5.

Sounds like you've never driven an Audi.

I've driven an Accord... I have also driven a new TL and I own a RSX-S.

I've tried the A4 Q S-Line, and S4 and there is no comparison between them and Audi. The Audi does not look like a Honda, the paint is better, the balance is better, the handling is much better and there is a night/day difference in the interiors. How the F you could have ever sat in an Audi and said it's no different from a Honda is beyond me. Did you by chance forget to bring your glasses?

Don't get me wrong, The Honda Accord is a nice, reliable and affordable family sedan. But if you compare it's driving to an A4 Quattro, it's an understeering, underbraking moose that will get you killed if you try to push it through a hairpin like the A4Q. The Accord's interior is mostly plastic, nice plastic, but plastic just the same.

Accord = Reliable family sedan. Audi A4Q = Luxury Sports Sedan. That's how they are advertised and that's how they are.

Where are you getting these alleged facts? The top of your head? Let me guess, you own a riced out Accord and this was just wishful thinking on your part. I understand, you don't have any useful information to contribute, so you made some up. I'm not even going to rebut this, The Detroit News can.

BMW High on Resale Value

A real sports car (Z06, etc.) is also a seemingly fun ride until you touch an F1 Racecar. But you can't exactly fit two people in that, just the way you can't fit 5 in the Z06. (Unless you're talking about me and 4 naked girls.) BMW's are a blend of sport, luxury and utility. The cars you mention have less of the latter and more of the former. Some people still want to have fun with the car they drive clients around in; Corvettes aren't good for that. (BTW There's a video going around somewhere of a Audi 1.8T A4 outperforming a Corvette on a road course... Which kind of throws a stick in that fan too.)

Now that we've got that straightened out... Why don't you...

I hate audi interior... it feels cheap and boring.

If there is one thing toyota/honda owners can really brag about, that would be high revving 4cyl and interior quality with its awesome fit&finish. You are the first honda owner i've ever seen who is putting down honda interior.

And handling of RSX/TSX/ITRs can out handle Audi A4s handling anyday.
Audi A4's handling is not even close to being nimble. I don't see any Audis
doing well in SCCA. Yet, I see all these TSXs up top.

NO NO NO. You don't have to say that to please him.
( I drove a Prelude 200hp VTEC for 5.5 years love it )
But...Honda Accord is CRAP CRAP CRAP CRAP
I repeat CRAP CRAP CRAP.
Last week, I just sold my wife's Accord which was bought 22 mths ago in a rush when we needed a car after a house move.
I repeat - Accord CRAP CRAP CRAP.
There is NO COMPARISON.
I had been looking for new cars including Audi's.
I don't need to go into details, give me some reasons why
a Accord ?

I repeat - Accord CRAP CRAP CRAP.

Loved my accord(6th gen).
If the current generation had better styling, I wouldn't mind getting one again.

Fit and finish is nice... but still mostly plastic. The 2.0T Audi engine has 80% of torque available under 2,000 RPM. I wish my 2.0 VTEC engine didn't have to rev above 6000 RPM to get that.

Go drive an S4 and then talk to me about your Accord's handling.

The interior comment is just plain ignorant... You need to put your glasses on too...

You still didn't prove sh1t. Its my opinion, and such subject as interior design is all personal preference. and those pics doesn't do anything.

Did I mention anything about VTEC engine? what the hell are you talking about.

Ok, if it makes you feel better, yes, you own a rice box, with NO low-end torque, gotta spin up to 6000rpm to get at least some power, interior that is made out of cheap plastic crap, handles like a daewoo, so go out there and get a real car.

Feel better?
And I didn't say anything about accord's handling. YOU need to put on your damn glassses on. Than again, TSX is a euro accord. but I bet you are too smart to notice that. S4? How much is S4 and how much is TSX?

Get your comparison straight. Why are you putting down your honda so much and coming here acting like a BMW fanboy? Really, it looks pathetic.

i agree with everyone here who is on topic. comparing a bmw and a mazda is silly... but what ever happened to the top of the line mazda, the 9 series or the millenia? i guess its been a few years for that one, but i bet if they came out with something comparable, it would be VERY nice...

And FYI, in a recent test by Auto Motor & Sport, a german mag, test undertaken by 22 auto journalists from accross Europe, comparing 11 mid-size sedans, the Euro Accord/TSX finished in 7th spot.

and FYI, neither the BMW or Audi does any good in SCCA speed touring car challenge.
http://www.world-challenge.com/2005/tc-standings.html

When you get into SCCA GT challenge, Audi RS 6 is all over the place. Don't see many M3s though.

I also remember a german engineer quoting how TSX is best FWD handling car ever made despite the weight figure.
