I think I'm gonna buy the harbor freight folding 4x8 trailer. $550, even if I splurge on some nice hardware with corrosion protection, and a sheet of plywood for a floor, still under $600 for all the truck stuff needs, and no worry about getting a load of mulch or rocks or whatever dumped in and messing up the paint..easier to load too. And you can fold it up and stick it in a corner of a garage.

Here’s my daily. 650whp whipple supercharged Lariat high + max tow package f-150 long bed. Love the truck only downside is my m3 doesn’t feel any faster than her so going to need to supercharge the m3 now or trade her for something else.

I'm planning to get a full-size crew cab pickup truck that will make my life easier and prevent me from destroying the inside of the X7 with building materials and other random stuff. Also planning to get a camper in the future and would use the truck instead of the X7 to tow it.

Which truck brand/generation do other BMW owners have and would you recommend it? I'm leaning towards Ram Limited but Ram's reliability history is holding me back. It seems most of the trucks have had engine issues due to dumb cylinder shutdown features.
If I can suggest something, that worked well for me instead of having a pickup truck that would only occasionally be put to pickup use....

A nice utility trailer. Hook it up to the X7 when you need it. Leave it behind when you don't. I use them to transport tires, Home Depot garden materials, etc.

That would certainly be a sight to see. She doesn’t handle that bad for a 5600lb truck. 325’s all around, bilstein shocks, rear sway bar, traction bars, aftermarket control arms with -1.4 degrees camber up front makes a world of a difference from stock. Alcon big brake kit is next.

I was gonna get the ride tech handling kit if I got one. That's what the Shelby trucks use. It's like $2500 but very thorough.

5600 pounds is honestly pretty light all things considered. There's no shortage of SUVs that are that or more. My TBSS is like 5200lbs and much smaller. Back before everyone was forced to add weight and electric motors, dropping weight was a huge benefit and Ford dropped a lot of weight when they went aluminum.

I have a '22 Suburban with the I6 turbo diesel. Almost 40 mph on the highway and it tows my enclosed car trailer easily. If you do any substantial towing the diesel is worlds better than a gasser. That engine is also available in the pickups.

40 seems high for what I'd consider a "freeway speed" (80mph+), but over 30 out of a small diesel wouldn't surprise me at all. They do like 20 highway on the V8 gas motors, and have for like 2 decades.

Someone going 65mph ish with a draft could probably flirt with or hit 40 in those diesels.

That's another one of those vehicles that was ahead of its time. You look at Maverick, Santa Cruz, I think Dodge, Chevy, and Toyota have similar vehicles coming... They're all very comparable to the Baja.

I didn't think it was that bad looking. A Baja Turbo was a pretty cool car back in the day.

The Baja was still based on a car and not a SUV at least. I have one I regularly see on my commute. It was interesting for it's time, but I think that yellow color spoils it a bit.

37.8 is the best highway mileage I've seen. And I don't drive conservatively. Hence "almost 40". Questions???

I'll bite. Please tell us how your diesel Suburban exceeds UNLOADED highway ratings by nearly 50%!?!?!?! Are all your trips down hill and with a tailwind?

Chevy rates the I6D Suburban at 21 city and 27 highway.

Well here you go. Sorry, by memory I was 1 mpg off. 36.8 best on a 50 mile trip. 20 mpg average including city driving and pulling trailers, etc.. Any further questions I can help with?
