Man this thread it totally titled incorrectly...should have been something along the lines as bring your screaming, drooling, piss/shit machine to work day...

I thought it was going to be about banging your hot (female) boss and getting caught by your co-worker, who took pictures and is blackmailing you to complete all their work.

That's a workplace worry...

How does her bringing the baby to work personally impact you? Is bringing the baby resulting in a decreasing quality of her work?

If the answer to those is no, why in the hell don't you worry about getting your own work done and ignore that.

I guess my wife really is something special. How she ended up with my lazy ass is still miraculous to me some days.

On the 8/10 kids thing, it's a vagina, not a clown car. Even if they all aren't from the same car!!!

I wouldn't say that I run from them, but I definitely don't allow myself to get sucked in to that role. I have no desire to be a role model or parental figure to any child other than my own. The girlfriend has 3 kids and I spend absolutely no time with them. If kids are well behaved, I don't have a problem with being around them; however I don't know many single women whose kids are well behaved. I'm not being an asshole, it's just the truth.

How many kids does this woman have is this the person with 10 kids or is this another woman? Does she have a man or she is a single parent? We have an admin in our office who says she wanted 3 kids (she has one). Not sure how she could afford 3 on her salary. Even if her husband does well that would be a lot and if he's doing so well she wouldn't need to work as an admin.
Same woman. HR at work. Currently has 4 of her own and 4 step children walking around with 2 more growing inside her now.

I'm going to recommend that you don't think anymore. Just have someone else find out the facts and have them communicate with you. It will save you a lot of confusion in life. I am a man. Perhaps you should read up on context clues......extensively.
I just figured Jody like Jody Foster not trying to spend too much time trying to figure things out like that.

I don't get all this modern hippie stuff either where people feel the need to bring their dog, crying kids and picket fence to work. I mean do these people read the contracts they sign? You are renting out your time in exchange for payment. This isn't your living room. If you don't perform, you're fired. Should I bring my 5 pet orangutans because they get lonely in the house on their own? Not to mention, this whole notion that it is possible to have a golden career and raise your kid well at the same time is like some kind of twilight zone fairy tale lacking any semblance of common sense while logic and pure facts just demonstrate it is impossible.

Rather than fight it, suggest you just get out of there. Better yet, go start your own thing. World needs people who think and sounds like you do just that.

Not that I ever thought I'd talk about this on an M3 forum :-)

I would suggest that the female boss make provisions for the breast-feeding mom in her office or someplace in the office that is quiet and away from the rest of the employees.
In addition, its likely that there should be some sort of a large room for kids to play with a babysitter so that people can work without disruption. Gotta make separate daycare provisions for productivity .

I would do a quick 20-minute internet research, then type up a brief summary of all the legal liability that a company sets itself up for when they do this (on-site daycare); just the injury/safety stuff, not to mention the EEOC bit about how it imposes upon all the rest of you. Slip it under the boss's door, perhaps with a final note that if they don't stop this one, they better expect to start having more do it. I've worked at several places, large and small, that refused to have on-site daycare due to the legal horrorshow it entails; those little poop factories can find more ways to injure themselves than you could imagine, and NOTHING gets an ambulance chaser more excited than an injured cute baby - they practically write their own check.

BAH, I'm just gonna keep my head down and get paid. If something awful happens or things get weird I'll say something, but I've only been here for less than a year and in a right to work state saying things is a big no no

There is no possible way that having an infant, or any child, at you desk isn't negatively impacting your productivity, unless you weren't doing anything prior to bringing the kid to work.

My dog comes to work every day and it raises moral and gets people away from their desks to chat. Now, he's an awesome fucking dog and takes zero effort to control so that helps. No barking or begging are the rules. I don't allow him in meeting rooms, as that's usually truly business time. If I don't have Steve with me one day, everyone asks where he is like he's an actual worker.

I've been in church with a newborn behind me feeding and that sound was very distracting and kind of gross. So I get it's distracting in a work situation, but can't you just put on some headphones and listen to an audiobook or maybe the Hydraulic Press channel on YouTube? If I don't want to listen to something at work, headphones go on.

Some of us are very allergic to animals, though. Cats are #1 & dogs are #2 on the list of what I am allergic to. What if your co-workers were?

Why does he have to put on headphones at his job because this kid that doesn't belong is there? Fuck that favoritism bs.

Because people ask me to bring him and no one's allergic to animals here.

He doesn't HAVE to do anything. He doesn't HAVE to keep going to this job. He doesn't HAVE to use headphones. He doesn't HAVE to keep his head down and shut up. He doesn't HAVE to be annoyed with the situation he opened up to publicly. Pretty sure I didn't use the word HAVE in my previous post.

T'was merely a passive suggestion for the dilemma at hand.

That first question wasn't a yes/no question.

He already stated that they are noisy and distracting from his work and focus. If his work decreases due to distraction, that could easily affect him.

I'm sure you would be singing a different tune if the person in the cube next to you put a swastica up or something. Doesn't affect you, so you shouldn't care right?
