I was cross-shopping used ATS-V before settling on the Audi S3.
Looks like a worthy successor.

Love it. 472hp from a TT V6, and a manual. 2 new cars to add to the "Cars you can still buy with a manual" list.

Impressive. Most impressive.

Speaking objectively, the new Cadillac CT5-V Blackwing has the biggest engine of any car here, the most power, it's the only one offered in RWD, the only one with a stick shift, and it's the cheapest by nearly 20 grand. A quick glance through the option lists reveals the Cadillac is lacking features like true massage seats and a perfume dispenser in the glovebox, so if you're concerned about that sort of thing, you'll have to consider one of the Caddy's German rivals more seriously. On paper, though, this new CT5-V Blackwing looks incredible, like a true enthusiasts machine. Let's hope it's as good as it sounds.

I think the CT5-V Blackwing looks better...but commands a much higher premium of course. It is interesting - I really like that they kept the manual.

haha, true. I had a used one. It was a fun car to drive until it sadly started falling apart at the 25k miles mark. Having to go to GM for service and repairs was the worst part. Had to quickly get rid of it.

0-60 in 3.8s has my attention. How is Caddy’s reliability these days?

Huh?

Pretty sure BMW, Mercedes, and Audi make one.

Regardless, seeing Gen III CTS-V resale staying strong means the CT5 Blackwing manual will probably sell for its MSRP for the next decade.

I test drove one w all of the hype... it handled and steered very well but it ended there. Build quality, engine sounding like a vaccuum and that joke of a dash out of a cobalt w an auto tranny that should have been in a 70s Plymouth aside... it was... well acceptable lol.

wanted to like it. i love my manuals too and have a gt3 and f80 both 6 speed. but this thing looks awful. interior looks nice though. weight seems to be ok at 4100, although i'd expect lighter since the M5 has awd+dct and comes in at 4300.

Well, it's a Cadillac aka a re-badged Chevy, haha...

I work at a Cadillac dealer and the two Blackwings are the most anticipated vehicles to come....Cadillac has come along way.
The new lineup is def not your grandmas Caddy as someone put it and the technology and reliability are not the GM of the 90's

Very exciting times for our dealer right now....(But ill always stay true to my BMW roots)

What is "such limited numbers"? None of these vehicles will be doing over 5000 units in the US. They are all limited.

Those vertical LED strips are fugly, maybe they'll look better in real life.

Other than that it's a nice price w/ solid specs. Going to have to drive it to really see what it's like. Undercuts m3/4 by $20k, M5 by $35kish.

I predict this will be like the SS. Prob sell for 15-20% off and it'll hold its value at that price point.

I do like manual option, Caddy doing their part to save the manuals.

Are you saying that GM will sell 5000 blackwings per year? At least the preorder is limited to 250 per car. Also, not to ignore, BMW/Merc/Audi sell worldwide.

Its about as light as you're going to get for a 670hp sedan. Don't know of anything close except for the last CTS-V.

No, I'm saying all of the cars are limited sales here. Anything under 5,000 units is tiny. I expect this car to sell about as well as the last CTS-V.

Oh, I don't think so. Don't forget that GM is also selling the "normal" CT5-V for an attractive price. That is the one most "V" people will opt for.

The normal CT5-V is the CTS Vsport from the last generation. They aren't being cross shopped. If you're walking in for a CT5-V Blackwing you know what you're looking for and its not the CT5-V. Do you think people looking for M5's and RS7's are buying S7's and M550's? No.

My issue with the car is the interior looks dull and cheap. Otherwise it seems like a winner
