prologue was released for that very reason. Think of prologue as a Beta test for GT5

How much better is the collectors edition? Maybe if it adds a bunch more cars or tracks, then its worth for it. Hmm.

Not really that much different but the 300 page book sounds like a good read. It is a $40 premium, seemed worth it.

I placed my Collector's Edition pre-order with GS the day it became available on their website. I can't wait for this. Even blew the dust off GT5P and bought a wheel to get back in the groove of things.

so stoked for this game. Was so happy they included the 135i in the prologue.

So lets talk good GT5 Steering Wheels.

I'm on the fence about getting one. But If I get one, its going to be a decent one. Anyone ever had a great one? And how did it match up with past GT games?

a GT approved steering wheel improved my lap times on GT4 over handheld controller. Havent used a steering wheel with GT5 prologue, but I'd imagine it would help. I'll definitely be shopping for one when GT5 hits shelves.

with the controller i constantly find myself correcting my steering (flicking full left and right on dpad instead of holding a wheel position). the wheel helps eliminate this input problem.

I'm not a fan of wheels. I know the problem you mean but I think I have better feel of the car with the controller. Steering wheel disconnects you even more from the car. Hard to explain. Maybe I just need to get used to a wheel.

I recently just bought a wheel for GT5P, Shift, and when GT5 comes out. I love it, a lot better than the controller. I feel I have more control over the throttle and steering with the wheel.

The wheel I got was the Driving Force GT (DFGT).

I believe a large part of this is the quality of the wheel you get.

As the lower quality cheaper wheels probably have worse 'feel'. A higher quality wheel I expect would translate better into the game.

I have heard that under heavy use the potentiometers in the pedals wear out though.

On the topic of brands and wheel types, I have heard good things about the Logitech G25 ($230) and the new G27($300). I read an article that talked about some $900 wheel, but that is a little extreme. I'd rather buy one of those cockpit chairs instead.

I've been interested in those cockpit setups for a while but they seem to be pretty pricey. Cheapest I found was $350. Plus, I don't like the idea of having such a huge single purpose setup in my living room since eventually I will end up getting tired with the game (I'm not a big consoler in the first place).

But I just found this, and it looks to be pretty decent. My biggest concern is just with how sturdy it is. Anyone have any experience with something similar?

I've got one and there are no stability issues whatsoever. Sure it's not as solid as driving a real car, but it's surprisingly stable. IMHO, if you have a wheel, a stand is essential to enjoy the thing.

Few Updates:

The game will have go Karts.

Single Player Career Mode that covers both A and B-Spec is the driving force behind the game.

A-Spec lets you be the driver and lets your skills decide where you stand on the grid and where you end up.

B-Spec puts you in the role of Team Director, and it’s your job to study what is going on around you and play to your drivers strengths to come out on top, which will help the driver develop into a top-tier driver.
