I had a hard time with first few episodes. Honestly if it wasn't for the fact I had nothing else to watch I probably would have quit it. However I'm glad I didn't I love it now.

Same happened to me with the last airbender... never got past the first episode and since I have peaky to watch now I haven't watched it anymore.

I watch everything with subtitles because every show has dialogue whisper quiet and tension/action ear splitting loud. So fucking annoying.

We watched The Brothers Sun on Netflix. It has been cancelled (no second season) and the storyline was mostly not great. Yet, I found it entertaining. The season ended in a way that could continue or be the series finales. 8 episodes is probably just right.

That's the one w Michelle Yeoh and kinda action+comedy? I couldn't get into it. Would recommend House of the Ninja instead.

That happened to me the first time that I tried it. Came back a few years later and actually liked it a lot.

I think of it as the American version of Peaky Blinders. Enjoyed it too!

BTW, I agree with you on Homeland. For me, it went a little sideways, politically (and I really try to be aware, understanding, and accepting of those things when watching tv and movies), for my taste in a few of those seasons. But, to each their own.
Saw BE when it first aired and it is on my list to rewatch. Also, plan to rewatch Homeland, will see if it stood up to the test of time.

I just started, “3 Body Problem” on Netflix and I’m enjoying it. Has anybody else watched season one?

I started it, but couldn't finish it. Great concept and interesting at first, just not for me. I'm the resident show abandoner though. I'll cut bait faster than anyone I know. YMMV

Same…tried to hold on but couldn’t. Got a little too, out of my typical genres, to hold on.

This. When these shows or movies get a little too fantastical, I cut them off immediately. It's feels like a writer's room weakness in my uneducated opinion. Since we are unable to write a script with proper character development, story and plot, and dialogue we'll take the audience on a wild, nonsensical journey to keep them on their toes. Lame. There's more and more of this across all streaming platforms.

I am midway through episode 5 of 8. The premise was interesting, but it may have just taken a turn.

I enjoyed the story, but the main chick got on my nerves for some reason. Not the best show I've seen but definitely not the worst either.

Just saw the mini series The Signal on Netflix. Now that was a totally bag of dog poo.

Starts out really strong then loses it's way. Worth grinding through it i gues, better than most new stuff.

I ate up 3 body, but I haven't been able to get enough of Liu Cixin writing, so . . . Heck, I've bought the same book a few times, thinking it was something new.

OK, MAYBE it was something new, for me.

Wait, I'm not in the old thread, am I??

And just then, this squirrel ran by the window.

Pretty sure I just saw a totally different version of 3 body problem on Prime and it was in Chinese. Already saw the Netflix one and I'm not a fan of reading subtitles... but if anyone is interested.

Yes, there are multiple versions of the show. Thankfully the subtitles are few and far between on the Netflix show.

Netflix typically does a good job of dubbing movies. Some better than other but definitely leagues better than when I was a kid.
