I liked this: "If you are planning to run a wire down a public sidewalk, know that the ESA considers this hazardous — even if you're using an extension rated for outdoor conditions." I guess if your dumb enough to fall for the EV grift your most likely dumb enough to charge it with an extension cord.

"The Chinese government will have nothing to do with our Michigan EV plant"
Ford Motor Company February 2023. Investigation results released today: "Ford Motor Company is planning to contract technology and software from at least four Chinese firms that supply similar services to the Chinese government and military, and the North Korean government" What a tangled web they've woven.

Old man Ford... Blue Oval Party? Argument is in there, somewhere. When the current bus driver does a photo-op with the hard hat on backwards...does anything really matter?

Less than half of EV owners in Canada are satisfied with their province’s public charging infrastructure. Does the survey tell us something. Our government really need to get the shit together.

Disabled people are being led up the garden path by uncouth motability dealers misselling EV's that nobody wants.

New electric vehicle battery could recharge in 5 minutes, avoid fires:
January 30, 2024 Nanoelectrofuel flow batteries provide an upgrade from traditional flow batteries by boosting energy density via nanoparticles, IEEE Spectrum magazine reported. Their development is being spurred by the U.S. Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency. The technology is two years away from powering electric vehicles and the wider grid, but it offers advantages over flow and lithium-ion batteries, the latter of which is the standard for EVs and electronic devices. The battery is “small enough for use in an electric vehicle and energy-dense enough to provide the range and the speedy refill of a gasoline-powered vehicle,” it stated. John Katsoudas, company co-founder and chief executive officer, told the outlet the technology can store 15 to 25 times as much energy as traditional flow batteries and will be cheaper and last longer. The new batteries may also outpace lithium-ion cells. The design is fireproof and allows for the quick replacement of used nanofluid — an incredible 400 liters (106 gallons) in five minutes, IEEE Spectrum reported. Those factors are driving the military’s involvement, which in turn is coming from deadlines of 2030 and 2050 to use electric supply vehicles and electric tactical vehicles. https://www.thecooldown.com/green-te...ries-ev-power/ Can Flow Batteries Finally Beat Lithium? 24 Dec 2023 As she drives her electric vehicle to her mother’s house, Monique’s battery gauge indicates that it’s time to reenergize. She stops at a charging station, taps her credit card at the pump, inserts a nozzle into the car, and in 5 minutes exchanges 400 liters of spent nanofluid for fresher stuff. As she waits, a tanker pulls up to refill the station itself by exchanging tens of thousands of liters of charged for spent fuel. Monique closes her EV’s fueling port and heads onto the highway with enough stored energy to drive 640 kilometers (400 miles). The battery can be recharged in two ways: The two solutions can be charged in place by a current moving in the opposite direction, the way conventional batteries are charged, or the spent solutions can be replaced with charged ones. Besides beating lithium batteries in performance and safety, flow batteries also scale up more easily: If you want to store more energy, just increase the size of the solution storage tanks or the concentration of the solutions. Additionally, because the nanoelectrofuel is an aqueous suspension, it did not catch fire or explode, nor would the material be hazardous if the battery were to leak. The battery possessed a wide operational range of between -40 °C and 80 °C. https://spectrum.ieee.org/flow-battery-2666672335 Interesting, amazing what the free market can do with a little help from DARPA. Several issues I see, weight of fuel alone, 106 gallons at 8.33lbs per gallon or 882.98 lbs of fuel. We are in heavy truck fuel loads here. While we are at it. This would require yet another completely new distribution and manufacturing system as well as increase in transportation costs from two way requirements. Looks like the free market will once again prove the government tax spenders are wasting billions of tax payer dollars on technology that will be found on the trash heap of bad ideas in the future. |

Is the government really thinking about saving the world or they just want to keep spending money. One thing for sure, we need to grow more money trees
If the city is bleeding money it isn’t sensible to spend unnecessarily on EV firetrucks. A lot of homeless people could be housed for those millions. https://torontosun.com/opinion/colum...ed-theres-fire |
