i've seen the araura's quite a few times, however i'm drawing a complete blank on where ive seen them all those times. i think there's always been a lake lake near by. I very rarely make it past 45 north.

you don't get overhead views though do you? I'd imagine its more of a just looking to the north kind of thing?

yes and no. i would say looking up at maybe a 45degree angle (ironically) the araura's can reach pretty far, but i've never seen directly overhead. This would only occur on an extreme showing of them however.

and the other reason i have probably seen them so many times is because my mom lives in a very small town on the edge of lake huron where there's no light pollution in regards to the town being so unpopulated in winter and miles upon miles of open water to look over top of.

if further north you're supposed to see more colours in it. i've only been able to see the greens .

I was driving to work this morning on the same road I've taken hundreds of times and this scene, which I see on a daily basis, suddenly struck me as being full of geometric shapes all clustered together. I started thinking of ways to use this basic scene to amplify the shapes and take attention away from the actual details. The problem is my being nearly bereft of artistic talent. Suggestions welcomed.

I have a very similar design feature on my Itouch, however, it's black, so I can't really get a shot of it

I left work early yesterday and planned on getting some shots of an old truss bridge near home. The light was good when I left the office, but clouds moved in and screwed it up some before I got to the bridge. The river was also flooded, so getting down under the bridge or near the usual shoreline was out of the question. I'll probably have to come back this summer and try again.

Still makes for a cool shot, though.

No, but I processed the same RAW file two different ways and then merged the images. Otherwise it was very flat and almost monochromatic (and not in a good way).
