were you actually short selling GME?
or you bought puts?
or you bought in at the top and then sold for a loss? (the last 2 scenarios are not part of a short squeeze)

Made almost 10% on VXX today, sold it and placed that cash afterhours in HD, Roku, Nvda, Arkk (kinda of double playing in a way) and also bought some SQ. Just trying to swing those overnight for a few % gain. Nvda is at a very nice buy in and far from analysts projections. Same with Roku.

I have been a holder of vix for awhile, and today was the day it acted like a true hedge. I also hold some call options on it and they rocketed today.

I usually only keep it for a week tops since it erodes. I actually bought it after hours last night and sold today. Wish I would have bought more lol

How are folks putting high sell limit for stocks? Tried to do $800 for GME and it’s not letting me. Says I have to call the brokerage.

Robinhood was allowing me to put in up to $15k for a while, then when all the shenanigans started and they started limiting the stocks they cancelled my limit sells for everything over $1k.

Transferred all my shit to Schwab, called them up and asked them to set limit sells for me and the rep was able to do it over the phone (their website wouldn't let me put anything over $5k).

Fair warning though it took about an hour of being on hold to get through. Their lines are pretty busy these days with everyone transferring out of Robinhood and whatnot.

What's got me nervous right now is it took me 2 tries to initiate a full account transfer from Robinhood to Schwab and it looks like it's finally going through as of last night...

...but at the moment my Robinhood account is empty and nothing has shown up in my Schwab account yet.

Depends on brokerage I think. For robinhood, they max out the limit sell at 5x current price. I put one there for a stock and it rejected it after a couple days when the stock price fell. Granted it was an unlikely hit in the near term but idk why they cant just hold it

Sold everything I bought in after hours yesterday for an account gain of 2% total today. Yesterdays gain was a nice 6.2%. Good safe and stable week for me.

i opened an account with Webull, Chase, and now Tastyworks

making Tasty my main account, it's amazing
opened a cash account at first
but now waiting for margin account to be approved
my next move is a debit call spread on AAPL and AAL

bought an additional 70 shares
wish i had waited a bit until price dipped under $90 but oh well
it still brought my avg cost down

next week, to the moon or bankruptcy

I wanted to reduce my RH footprint and make it my YOLO stocks and my other account my investments. Looked at fidelity, TD Ameritrade, and dough. Didn't love any of them. Settled on Merrill Edge which I already use for IRAs. Still use RH including for some crypto, also use paypal and coinbase. I like coinbase.

i'm so used to the RH user interface so I'm still going to be using it to look up things quickly
But I will eventually move everything out

called customer service
was informed that my SSN is already associated with an account

I said, "Is there a million dollars in there? Then it's my account"
The rep on the phone said it belongs to a woman...
I said, "Depending on the account value, I can be a woman..."

anyway
I hope they quickly get this sorted out
I don't want any tax liability created by this mistake

My issues with creating an acct w fidelity were the reason I didnt go with them. I dont have the patience to call people and mail in forms.
