I hit the jackpot at the park today. I ended taking over 790 shots (10FPS will do that to you!). The heavy rains have filled the marshes that were bone dry for the last two years, and the ducks have returned along with a heavy raptor presence. A great way to test the limits of new gear.

I was looking for feathered birds, when this aluminium kind came up on me from behind. I did my best to slow the shutter down, but probably should have gone down one more stop.

Not really. I've always tended to leave luminescence noise in, to avoid crushing detail. If I were going to print that, I'd do a sky layer and crush the noise into submission. I've always been pretty lazy with my "internet" processing.That was shot at ISO 800, with almost no NR.

I see guys doing that out here too, but I don't think I have ever seen anyone catch anything. What kind of fish do you pull out of the surf?

I got lucky today and caught this perched bald eagle in Northern California. A pretty rare sight.

No idea in FL. Here in MA it's usually stripers and bluefish. I don't surf fish, but a friend of mine does. Although lately he's just been fishing the Cape Cod Canal.
