I remember reading some say Max can only win with the best equipment. You could argue RB hasn't been the dominate car since at least May. This was one of his best drives, risking a lot in those terrible conditions.

The RB was maybe the fastest for 5 races...Miami to Brazil, it was on average the 3rd fastest car and on many weekends the 4th fastest car. Max won in 2021 in the second fastest car, he won in 2022 when the first half of the season Ferrari had the fastest car, in 2023 he took a good car and dominated in a way no one in history of F1 ever has, or frankly, ever will, and in 2024 he's likely to take the 3rd fastest car (avg throughout the year) and win WDC 4 (in a row). Few have ever won WDCs in a slower car, even fewer have won multiple in a slower car.
Hamilton has never, will never, could never win in a slower car. He simply is the most overrated driver in the history of motorsports. Most of the guys in Indy, WEC, Rally, would all own him the way Max has. Max is like the Michael Jordan of basketball. He did in shorter time with more talent than what Lebron could in 50% more time. Lebron is good but he'll never be MJ.

Then 21 happened and we all left because anyone who doesn't admit it was an outrage has zero integrity.

I've said it before and I'll say it again. Max is a decent driver - better than Lando, but that's it. He's not half the driver Lewis is and never will be.

Lewis was beating the WDC in his rookie season. Max couldn't even beat Daniel Ric who wasn't half the driver these other guys are.

All Maxes teammates outside of Ric are mediocre at BEST. RB settled for barely Mid-Field check because they were afraid that Max would rage when losing and kill himself and someone else

Hamilton won 2 DWC with 2 different constructors and is the winningest driver of all time. It took literally an act of the government bodies, cost caps and blatant cheating and Bias to cheat him out of his last one.

F1 is just a bunch of (word that rhythms with Light And Mashinalist) who can't bear to see the one ans only person of color top top the good ol boys club, and Beat Schumachers record. Everyone sees it and thats why this forum looks like an echo chamber.

Yeah, Max won 1.5 championships on merit - good for him. And he also literally threw a fit because medicore Lando had a faster car than he did. He's a more talented and equally as annoying Fernado Alonso, but his fans are absolutely worse.

Max is just ok. And one race won't change that. Can I show Brazil 2008? Singapore 2018? AD21?

I guess I must have some divine insight because I told this entire forum that Lando is trash based on how he started his Career.

This forum gave me the same criticism that it does now- I'll be happy to pull receipts with Screenshots of all the "likes" where people pat themselves on the back for empty opinions that aren't based in reality.

And here I am again giving another reality check. Max isn't and never will be as good as Hamilton.

Max is a Payton Manning to Lewis Tom Brady.

Max owns Hamilton who will never be as good as Max no matter what - and people who are fans see it and realize he was a cheat, a farce, a sham. Funny you say Ham is like Brady who cheated almost every year with the Patriots (delfategate, taping teams practicing,) LOL

Difference being Ham did this in the fastest car on the grid every time...none were impressive in the least.
What Max did was epically biblical and will go down in history as one of the most impressive feats of pure driving talent...along with several of his other drives. ham would have never been able to do what Max did in the same car. He could barely keep his car on track LOL

I just love this post race interview with Horner and the sky team:

It's well known that Hill is a Max hater and he and Horner certainly don't look eye to eye and have lashed out at eachother numerous times in previous interviews, but......
Just the expression on Hill's face, he constantly looks like he's gonna vomit

I never liked Hill, never cheered for him in his heydays. I was more in the Schumacher camp
(although I might've been even more in the Irvine ('Fast Eddie') camp in those days )

Vettel won four championships in a row and was the youngest driver to win a championship. Then the hybrid era started and he was unable to win another championship.
But no one talks of him being one of the best ever.

Max is definitely the best of the current drivers and will surely win his fourth championship this year and maybe fifth next year. But with the new regulations in 26 who knows if he’ll win anymore.

BTW Hamilton was considered the best wet race driver earlier in his career at McLaren.
Not as good as Senna but nobody is.

I’m not a fan of any of the above drivers but they each dominated at times.

It’s hard to compare drivers from different eras.

My opinion is Senna is the best but other drivers have won more races and championships than he did so by the numbers he isn’t. But he could do things with a car I have never seen anyone else do.

Here's his onboard footage...

It's not that his steering system is failing or so that it's locked in a certain position or so, he actively steers into the gravel!

And this is what Interlagos looks like in that area, and one of the possible routes he could've taken....

What an utter idiot!
Those drive arounds are there specifically for situations like these.
I think he did it on purpose. The car is now the worst car on the grid. Knowing he would either come last or second last or possibly destroy the car in the process.

Fernando looked like he’d been worked over with a baseball bat when he got out. What on earth are they doing at Aston? I reckon they will end up 7th in constructors.

We're bound to get a spectacular race, with (hopefully) rain as equalizer, sorting the F1 men out of the F1 boys. Could be a drama-filled race for the history books. Fasten your seatbelts.

Norris should remain level headed: do not DNF. If need be, let Russell (P2) go. Don't get rear-ended by Tsunoda (P3).

Sainz will start from the pitlane (if Ferrari mechanics manage to get his car operational on time):

Verstappen showed his talent on track.

Norris ran out of talent on track and field.

The difference here is stark. Hamilton had every advantage one could imagine. The MB had 3-4 years of developement before MB used their FIA influence to sign off on that exact engine configuration. It made 80-100 more hp than every car on the grid. Anyone, literally anyone with any average level of driving ability could win with that car. Then on top of it, secret tire tests, and tons of stuff they allowed MB to use to great advantage while banning other teams from using. There were also many questionable non-penalties for years - such as the 28 times Hamilton went off track in Bahrain 2021 and didn’t get a single penalty. Once all of that vanished, he went nearly 3 years without a win and without a heap of luck he’d still have none in over 60 races.
Max’s best car was never nearly as good as the McLaren or MB ham got for 10 years, yet Max put down the MB in 2021 like a rabid animal and then went on to show us probably the two greatest F1 seasons statistically we will ever see. Max also is far more deft, dynamic, and agile than Ham. In 2022 his car had major understeer, which he hates. He still went on to win an absurd amount of races despite this and his car being slower than the Ferrari. He can cope with a bad car, Hamilton cannot! Max also can drive other classes of cars like he does in iracing or when he went out the other week in Mugello in a 296 GT3 and was fastest right away. He had the ability to adjust and this is where we know Hamilton will never attempt to race (Lemans, Wec, etc) because he knows when the car are equal he is simply not good.
Ham so good in the wet yet he spent more time in the dirt than Stroll did and Max once again proved how much better he is in the wet than anyone and nearly, or on par with Senna.

Hamilton is down in 10th and the defense is the car sucks, Hamilton is the greatest to ever live, he just needs a better car.

Norris gets screwed by safety cars and a high downforce setup so he can't pass on the straights, but it has nothing to do with that, it's all lack of talent.

Vettel's meltdown during the 2016 Mexican GP was peculiar:
  • Ferrari race engineer: "Charlie [Whiting] said that, Charlie said so..."
  • Vettel: "Yeah, you know what ? Here's the message for Charlie: F**K OFF ! Honestly, f**k off !"
  • Ferrari race engineer and team boss: "Stay calm. Sebastian, calm down. Calm down."
Vettel was given a 10-second post-race penalty for moving under braking when defending from Ricciardo, demoting him from P3 to P5.

About Vettel's swearing: no further action by FIA:
"At the recent Mexican Grand Prix, the Ferrari driver Sebastian Vettel made comments over team radio using repeated foul language directed at both the FIA Formula 1 race director Charlie Whiting and a fellow competitor [Max Verstappen], which were retransmitted during the live broadcast of the event.
Immediately following this incident, Sebastian Vettel spontaneously sought out Charlie Whiting to express his regrets for his behaviour in person. He then, again on his own initiative, sent letters to each of the FIA president Jean Todt and Charlie Whiting, in which he apologised profusely for his actions. He also indicated that he would likewise be contacting Max Verstappen and vowed that such an incident would never occur again.
In the light of this sincere apology and strong commitment, the FIA president has decided, on an exceptional basis, not to take disciplinary action against Mr Vettel by bringing this matter before the FIA international tribunal."
