No, if that would be possible, I'd bought the watch online and name the adress of the hotel.
Buying and shipping overseas is not an option, the custom fees would eat up the advantage.

I have a question for you Americans. Why is it that you make such a big deal about graduating high school?

You honestly do not find it all that difficult do you?

It boggles my mind. My cousin graduated and did the whatever you call it down there, and literally it was celebrated at a football stadium. A football stadium. Because there were that many invited to witness the graduating class. And then there are big parties after I'm led to understand. And it isn't cheap either!

I just don't understand. University - ok, I could see that I suppose, but even then, only if it was a really prestigious university I think.

It is interesting, but peculiar. I do not understand. Feel free to chime in with anything you don't understand about Canadian customs and I'll try to explain!

Except for milk in bags, which makes perfectly good sense.

I havne't got a clue. I didn't even attend my HS graduation. Most celebrate graduating from the 5th grade for some stupid reason.

Kindergarten- graduation party
6th grade- party
15 - quince (although mostly Hispanic)
HS - party (we are trying to get 25 tickets to the ceremony, then having about 100 over for tacos the next day, my brother is the DJ
College - party

I think it comes down to 'Murica just loves party more than our northern brothers and sisters, eh.

Havent understand this hype since I know it and found it everytime overestimated.
Unfortunately such graduation parties are swapping overseas and are meanwhile slightly adapted at some German schools.
After finishing university decades ago we had a big party but we relinquished of black hats and the long tunikas.
Only if you're graduation was as a doctor or lawyer then the ppl are dressed like your HS-guys.
But: As a very younger guy I'd enjoyed the US spring break partie, save the whole year my money to jump in there...thats long time ago already legend

See, if you are trying to get 25 tickets to HS grad, that means probably a lot of others are also trying to get similar quantities as the word "try" suggests you might not be successful. Which likely means this is going to be celebrated somewhere rather large, to fit all the guests.

Do you have 25 in your family - or does this include friends too? If friends, why do friends come to see their friends kid graduate from HS? I can see family coming though, but 25 seems like a lot of family.

Do they bring gifts for the graduating student? If so, they must make out like bandits.

I don't know - parties are all good, just trying to figure out why HS seems to be such a big deal. Because the party seems to be a bigger deal than just a regular party doesn't it?

Family only, and really only my mom and dad. My wife is Hispanic so . . .

me/wife, 2 sons/their gfs, gma/pa, aunt/hubby, cousin/daughter, cousin/daughter/hubby, uncle/3 kids, cousin/hubby/2kids. IF my brothers come, well there are 6 more.

It all happens on the football field, no reserve seating so we will probably be heading out at 11 for a 2 ceremony. I'll have to be sure and bring a few book from The Tower.

We ordered a taquero for 100 people for our house the next day.
