Forgive my ignorance but what exactly are the reasons anyone would pass a car off as an M when it isn't? I have a 440i F36 and I am satisfied with that. I don't feel the need to pass off my car as something it isn't. I suppose I am not feeling the need to compensate for something. Maybe being in my later 50s and living life has taught me I have nothing to prove. I am comfortable in my own skin ... and the skin of my base F36.

I had those things on a pick-up truck years ago and one day at the gas station this guy asks me 'hey, do those things work?' 'I dunno, haven't hit a deer since putting them on.'
