Likewise, there are no Gods, no angels, no "immaculate" conceptions, no magical healings.

My grandfather had a saying similar to that:

This is, and a contravention to the forum’s rules.
Is it? I am stating an unpopular opinion (at least in the US), as per the thread, not debating the issue. I didn't see you make that comment on post #6, most likely because that comports with what you believe. If not, at least try to be consistent in policing the forum/opinions. I'd tell you to report me, but suspect that you already have, snowflake.

To be fair - post 6 was posted before the mods changed the name of this thread to include "[NO POLITICS, RELIGION]". Previously it was simply labeled "Unpopular Opinion".

There was some chats around the E90 M3 being phenomenal around here... my unpopular opinion is that is is the worst M3 outside of the E36.

The car has a phenomenally sounding high revving V8... it sort of ends there.

That same V8 has completely lackluster torque, certain reliability issues with rods, sucks fuel worse than a Z06 Vette and has a manual tranny that is completely mismatched for the motor.

The E46 on the other hand weighs almost nothing, has the finest straight six ever made and is so basic that everyone years for one. The F80 blows the E90 performance wise away in every way and the G80 is an absolute monster in comparo.

Kind of highlights the power of sound.... I'm not an EV hater, but I can't ever see them providing an on par experience to what an ICE car can provide regardless of spreadsheet numbers.

There is little hope for the youth, as they are becoming more and more uncouth, tactless and toxic, all thanks to social media: they wouldn't dare to speak to someone irl as they do as 'anons' online.

This is probably the most popular opinion of all time Every generation has this same opinion about the incoming generation.

I love the E9x generation M cars. It's a hell of an experience that's an all-arounder. It takes very little to make them jump from pretty sweet to greatness. Rod bearings, Autosolutions shifter for 6MT, upgraded brakes, and... that's about all you need for a street car.

That said, I have been yearning for an S54. I came very close to purchasing an E86 M Coupe. Is the E46M the best M to date? They certainly come with their own bag of issues.

Really? I don't mean it in the way you described (bah, modern music sucks! etc), but as I've stated re conduct and mentalities, some of their comments and the way they interact (all the while thinking that is the 'normal' way to discuss w perfect strangers) is truly despicable, and I dunno if this pervasiveness ever occurred before the advent of the internet.

yup.... I've been hearing this for decades. My father said it about me and now I'm saying the same thing about today's youths. Bunch of degenerates.

In reality, the times change with the mentality. So for that reason I don't think they're as doomed as we'd think.

I predict a future where everyone is a lot dumber... which basically are the current kids. Govt / corporations will have far more influence on day to day life because people growing up now will lack critical thinking ability and will be fully controlled... their main news sources are legitimately social media.

That's a good meme/observation. I still kinda disagree w the OP, to me, it's palatable how much worse (rude) the youth these days appear vs any other gen. Ofc, I'm way expose to it vs the internet, so there's a big part of that being a factor. Still, the 'anon' aspect emboldens ppl like never before.

Ya, that movie Idiosincracy (sp?) predicted it years ago haha. Some of these 'kids' are shockingly, in fact, adults, w some even having kids and/or grandkids. It's very, very scary.

Idiocracy... and while it was a comedy about 17 years ago... it somehow isn't today, watch it very carefully.

I do remember that - but I interpreted that more on individual lineage as opposed to society in general. I could be wrong, but society as a whole goes through much more frequent cyclical ups and downs, as opposed to individual lineage which can have impacts for an entire generation.

Society, depending on which criteria you're using to measure, has generally trended upwards (higher lows - and no not talking about the stock market - just talking about overall improvement of quality of life). So it's hard for me to accept that, as foolish and degenerate as the next generation looks, that this will be the generation to break that trend.

That's different IMO than a situation where you have individual households with kids who've been spoiled into a life of ease, creating difficulty for the following generation.

Honestly I think that's a big part of it - access to idiots via the internet and social media. The idiots were always here and probably even higher in number - we just never heard them because communication bubbles were significantly smaller back in the day.

I’m ready to get roasted for this one:

Although I love kids, I don’t want any because I think the emotional reward is not worth the time, stress, uncertainty, and anxiety it brings.
