The rear end is just too overly styled. The original NSX was designed by an Italian designer. Maybe Toyota should have done the same.

I agree. That said many cars are. Even the latest BMWs are that way too these days.

I own many mkiv Supras now and would never really think of adding this new one to the stable.

as ive watched the supra world for so many years, now the cars prices explode. and the claims of dealers having holy grails of the mkiv supra world have come out here and there. seems funny to me. as I've watched this world so closely for years. the holy grail sits on top of a lift beside a loft full of memorabilia from Toyota and the supra line up. the holy grail of all Toyota Supras is this 1 car. and why? well these are the facts of this car.

titled: GETRAG GEAR CORPS INC.
93.5 hardtop 1 of 360 hardtops in the USA
lowest milage hardtop known to exist 8140 miles current
twin turbo
6 speed
100% stock car

this is the car of the owner of the company that made the transmissions for any and all 6 speed turbo Supras. he made the trans that was put into each and every car and then sold thru Toyota. this was his personal car. from t=his personal collection. the car is documented and real as can be. she sits comfortable in her home.

Not sure if posted on here already -too many pages to look through but snapped a couple of pics at the Toronto auto show.
Have to say, looks a lot better (and smaller) irl!

Sorry for the mediocre pics...

The Toyota Supra will start at around $50K. The M2 competition is about $59K with quite a bit more power. I think the M2 is more compelling.

18% isn't exactly insignificant. Dealers have $12k off of Grand Sport and Z06 Corvettes at the moment. That would seem to represent a much larger and direct threat to the Supra.

Most people will probably finance. Let's say you put down 20K, the rest will finance for 60 months, so the extra 10K won't be that significant. Besides, the M2 may cost 10K more, but I think it is quite a bit more than 10K better vs. the Toyota.

With the C8 Corvette coming out inventory of the C7 are up at dealer lots. Incentives and discounts not to mention good used ones available at decent prices for what you get.

It looks a lot better in your pics than the ultra up close marketing shots.

lol...that was exactly my feeling when i saw it in person...looked a heck of a lot better than the marketing pics I had seen out there. IIRC i even commented on bimmerpost how much i didnt like the look of it.

I guess that can be said for most cars though....i definitely liked the look of my F87 IRL vs photos i had to rely on when i purchased the car blind.

Kinda funky looking with the smaller rims and winter skins. Not really crazy about the car in black either.

Perhaps. But it may depend upon options. BMW's once optioned out usually go up more significantly (relatively speaking) than Toyotas.

I think the pricing comparison has to be individualized to what a buyer/lessee wants and how he will use the car.

Where do we learn about the $12k off a GS? I didn't see anything online. Please help.

Also... when I check my local dealer inventory I see anything but a glut of supply of Corvettes. I think I recall finding all of 2 or 3 GS'.

Twice that off. I just picked a random local dealer and am in no way affiliated with them. If the ad offends anyone I can pull it.

The friendly price appears to be $72999. That's not exactly a bargain. For that money, I'd get a M4.

And you'd love it!

If I close my eyes and wish hard enough, the M4 is the modern day Supra to me.

Guess it depends on what you want. A sports car or a GT. Two fairly different cars, honestly. And good luck getting $24k off an M4.

That's because the M4 has quality. I am a bit of doubtful with GM qualities nowaday. I haven't driven the C7 Corvette but everybody has good things to say about it. But ultimately I am not really a Corvette guy, more like a M guy.
