Did they get cheated by the refs or was that on Campbell? Me thinks the latter. From what I have gathered, Campbell tried to get cute and the player walked up to the ref, but didn't say anything. To report in you have to explicitly state it. Also, the refs announce when a player reports in as eligible. If Campbell didn't hear it, he should've called timeout. The play gets called back that's fine, but why do you keep going for it? You're not converting a 2 pt play from the 10 yard line. Just kick and take it to OT. Bad coaching IMHO.

General consensus seems to be the refs did indeed F up, and this ref staff has screwed up 3-4 other times this season as well. Campbell told refs about this play before the game, and they tried tricking Dallas but the dumb*ss refs got tricked as well.

Once you get backed up to the 7 yd line though, just take the extra point and play for OT.

This. Ref's were alerted before the game. Perfectly executed trick play the Ref's fucked it up and cost them the game.

Why would Decker walk up to a ref and not report? By walking up to the ref the other teams knows what you are doing.

EXACTLY!!! Not 1 but 3 opportunities for the tying field goal.
That is squarely on Coach, period.

My takeaways: Our Air Attack is exceptional. The relationship between Dak and Lamb is amazing. I'd like to see Cooks used even more.

Campbell is so concerned with being known for being aggressive that many of these kinds of decisions are just stupid.

Correct. Same thing with Riverboat Ron. Being aggressive hasn't done anything for him this year except 4 wins and a guaranteed firing on Black Monday.

Doubtful. It's aggressive playcalling. As lakefront said, that's his thing. They're second in the NFL on going for it on 4th down. It's not like DAL was scoring at will. They had 10 points through three quarters and 20 points overall.

It does look like the ref got the numbers mixed up, which created two penalties on the play...illegal touching and illegal formation.

Ref Brad Allen told Cowboys defense 70 was eligible, not 68. So defense wasn't paying attention to 68.

Also the head ref said it over stadium load speaker "number 70 is eligible". You can clearly here it on radio broadcast. Someone on Lions should have caught that and got refs attention.

Really expected a shootout between the 2 offenses. Packers D has been horrible lately but offense has been good. Was really surprised to see the pressure put on both Minn QBs. But lets not underestimate Love.....along with his group of young WRs, they can really move the ball. Love has quietly thrown 30 TDs this year. But also great play calling and play design by LaFleuer.
And with the Bears scoring 37 points (!!) Sun, they could certainly be the spoiler next week.
