It came a day early! Been playing around with it a little bit tonight.

Really sharp lens. I'm trying to get used to it not being an IS lens. I had a couple shots ruined by my hands shaking a bit.

Also it looks like you focused on her forehead. Try focusing on an eye. When the eye is in focus, the rest can be off just a bit and no one will notice. Nice pic, though. Tough to get a cat to hold still. I know this from vast experience.

I think it's something I'm just going to have to work on.

Thanks! I'm going to try to play around with the manual focusing, since the auto focus kept focusing on her forehead more than anything else.

I'm going to San Francisco this weekend and staying right near Fisherman's Wharf, so I'm looking forward to experimenting a lot with my camera and get a better feel for it.

If you bump your ISO up a little, it will alow you to increase your shutter speed a bit. You may have to do some noise reduction on the computer fater, but at least it will help you have more keepers instead of shake.

keep the heel of your palm on the base of your camera, and the underside of your hand on the bottom of the lens. your right hand is for aiming/operating, your left hand is for supporting weight.

I have the 18-55 kit lens, the classic 50mm and a 60mm macro. I need something with a little more zoom so I was looking at the 18-135mm and 18-200mm. Do you guys think the 18-200mm is worth the additional money?
