Basically same gearbox as the E39 M5. Plus this one has one more gear and much more advanced. I have another stick shift car, so that will take care of my needs when I'm dying to drive manual which I love

awesome car man. i test drove a used one a few months ago that needed new tires so the salesman let us spin em like crazy. it was an smg car and we spun the wheels all the way to second gear with the dtc off. my family has done business before with him and that relationship paid off during that test drive

Very nice. Like you said TC M3, the gearbox for the E60 M5 is exactly the same as the E39 M5, so it would be a waste to get the 6MT. The gear ratios simply won't match the E60 M5's powerband. Car and driver also stated that you can't turn the DSC completely off in the 6sp manual (read article), which is completely lame. I'm glad you opted for the 7sp SMG. Any sane person who's an enthusiast would have done the same.

P.S. You also have the 997 Carrera S?! Tell me you got that in manual though, right? haha

Is this the one with extra horsepower (over 507-510+)???

I believe they were suppose to give it 550 horsepower soon.
