Amazing time, but that car is clearly running roll cage, i kind of doubt its going to come with one.. but who knows, I could be wrong.
It did the lap on bespoke set of Trofeo Rs, which on a 7 min lap, make a huge difference Chris Harris has a video comparin the Trofeo R to Cup 2s on a GT3 and on a 2 min lap it was like 2 second difference. That gap is even bigger against P zero Corsas.. and on such a long lap, the advantage from the tires is quiet large. The onboard of this video shows no roll cage.

Passenger seat also looks like its been removed.
Door panels also look like they have been changed. Driver seat itself also doesnt match the video posted above. I think its safe to say, this car IS NOT what the customer will get.

Here is some more of my extended logic. Look at how fast the old GT2 RS was. 7:18 with a manual. Simply adding PDK and changing nothing else that car would likely run under ~7:06 given evidence seems to show PDK is worth 12 seconds over manual. On a car like the GT2 RS it might be worth even more given how much easier it is to drive. Now, let's add the much improved MPSC2 tires, rear wheel steering, the new 991 chassis, new PTV, more downforce, and I'm guessing some other tech may be from the 918 and I can easily see the car surpassing the 918. Furthermore, with the current 991.1 GT3 RS running a 7:18 at less than 500 hp, a face lifted version on the way which should easily surpass that, a car with another 150 hp and 200 more torque, the GT2 RS should really be something. You can see the Huracan they tested is not nearly close to a production car so the 7:52 is not a viable time in my mind compared to the 918. Haters Gonna Hate...
What exactly does Lamborghini have to gain if their competitors would or could confirm this is fake or false? Until I see definitive proof it was staged or false, I have no reason not to believe Lambo. |

They did a 7:13 will the 918 Spyder. Most recently beat their record with AMG-GTR at 7:11. I see no reason why this car can't beat the AMG-GTR, more power, lighter, active aero. |

ha! What's with all the haters? Why is this so hard to believe that this car is faster than their Aventador SV?
This is the classic problem with Lamborghinis since VW ownership as they only once was able to get Murcielago under 4000 lbs. The performance version of the baby bull always will outperform the current v-12 supercar offering due to its lower weight, shorter wheel base and drivability. On my coin, the best value buy would be: 1. 560-4 base 2. Gen 1 Superleggera 3. 550-2 base 4. 570-4 Superleggera I would own any Gallardo/Huracan over any V-12 Lambo for various reasons.

I have no reason the believe that this is anywhere close to a production car to even consider it legitimate for comparison. I think this car is mighty fast but anyone with some sort of racing knowledge will know how much it takes to beat the 918's "claimed" time by 5 seconds at the ring. This all looks and sounds like a load of "BULL" shit to me especially with the suspect video. I'm just waiting for the ACR to come in and set a legitimate record.
We've just surpassed the half way mark for crowdfunding. Any amount helps. https://www.gofundme.com/take-back-the-ring-record |

Regardless if this car has different tires or a roll cage, the basic foundation is there for a car capable of running 6:52! The door panels and seats are already pretty dang light on the SL series so they might be saving what, 30lbs if they removed them all together?!
I understand speculation for "Ringers", but dayum that's fast anyway you slice it. I think that begs the question, what is a more acceptable time for all those questioning it? 7:05? |

When I first watched the video I thought that it looked like it was sped up, albeit if only by a tiny bit. Some of those frames/shots just look too fast. Here's a youtube vid a guy did and he created an excel sheet on the huracan also.

Also, looking at this car. The front lip looks different, wheels are different, the way the car sits (rear camber) looks different, rear tires look wider.
