Another thing I just noticed is that the timestamps shown for 'last post' while browsing through topic lists are incorrect. However, if you go into the actual thread the time is shown correctly. I think the topic list time is not being adjusted from GMT.

See attached, in the topic list view it shows the last post of 'WTB SOCAL: Gitani Race Rear...' as 7:14 AM, but in reality the last post was made at 1:14AM (local time).

1) Scroll to top option by tapping top of screen not working anywhere on the new application.

2) Option to unsubscribe particular threads not available. Re-tapping the subscribe button after subscribing keeps displaying "successfully subscribed" alert.

@E9292121 to unsubscribe a thread, swipe over the thread title from the subscribed threads list, a button that says 'delete' will appear, press that and it will unsubscribe you from the thread

Not sure if its just me but when pressing "quote" to respond to a post the text on the thread is all jacked up. It usually happens when I quote a quoted post. It'll show first quoted text in quote box but post I'm actually quoting looks like I typed it but tried to add [quote/] to it

1. Load application.

At the bottom, it says "Error messages will only be displayed during development. When your app is packaged for final distribution, no error screen will appear. Test your code!" Only now, in testing this in portrait orientation, did I see the bottom of the error screen. Previously I had viewed it only in landscape orientation, which does not resize or responsively lay out the page contents. [See attached screenshot]

Semi-logged-out?

I just noticed that the app avatar states I am logged out, but I can see some of My Forums. Behavior is as if I'm only partially logged in. I just went to the Settings page and logged in, and now I no longer get the Subscriptions error, but otherwise have the same experience in the app. Same subset of My Forums, etc. So it's like I was logged in before, except for subscriptions and avatar. Maybe some cached configurations from the previous version of the app were lingering, interfering with the current app?


Usability feedback:

Every time I load the application, I tap on almost-invisible forum icon in top center, but find only the main forums menu. Then I realize that I should tap on the logo in the top left. It's a bit counterintuitive to have the rest of the forum links hidden behind the logo. Would be nice to have all of those options together.

I just now got the RSOD when trying to save an image. I touched the save button and there it was.

Tapping (short or long, dependent on the Last Read Post setting) on a subscribed thread does not go to the last read post. Applies to both read and unread threads in the Subscriptions list.

Ampersand (&) does not display correctly in Messages list or title.

Possible cause may be related to escaping in either HTML or XML encoding. May need to ensure other escapable characters encode correctly.

Tested the fixes and confirmed to work as expected.

Version 2.04

The following bugs still exist:

• Tapping on the top bar doesn't scroll to the top of the page
• Unicode symbols are not displayed correctly on threads in forum lists (although they do display correctly in the thread title once you tap on the thread and read the first post)
• Bullet points (in Unordered Lists) are displayed but the text for each bullet point is displayed on the next line
• Indented text is not indented (see previous post displayed in the Bimmerpost app).

Note: Unordered Lists and Indentation are displayed correctly in a web browser.

Creating new threads is playing up.

When you select 'new' the new page does not appear on the page, but it actually appears when you navigate to the top left menu/logo button > forums.

Odd that this one hasn't been mentioned yet. Frequently (usually?) when browsing the main E89 forum I get "Connection Error" even though I have good wireless signal, and other apps on my phone/pad as well as though out the rest of my home network are working fine. I'm wondering if its a scalability/capacity issue as browsing to some of the other E89 forums (like classifieds and such) ~usually~ don't have this problem.

Here are some bugs that I have identified:

• Does not scroll to the top of the page when the status bar is tapped - last status was Evaluating.
• Does not go to last thread with short tap when "Settings > Single click goes to last read post" is set to ON if you haven't either (i) exited the forum and gone back in or (ii) refreshed (pull down) the forum thread list
• Images are cropped in the thread - should display a resized image in the app (when you tap on the cropped image, the full image is displayed)
• Images are not displayed in PMs ([IMG] tags and URL are displayed) - images are displayed in the browser
• Different fonts not displayed correctly in threads or PMs, e.g.

  • In a PM, Courier New displays as Times New Roman
  • In a thread post, Arial, Courier New and Verdana display correctly, but the other test font types all display as Times New Roman
  • Font sizes display correctly

  Incidentally, using Safari or Chrome on an iPhone, the mobile site exhibits the same characteristics as the iOS app, while the desktop site on an iPhone displays the font types correctly but font sizes 1 and 2 are displayed incorrectly (1 is equivalent to 3.5 and 2 is equivalent to 1 - strange!).
  Note: all font types and sizes are displayed correctly on a PC using IE10 and FF24.

Perhaps the iOS app is supposed to be more lightweight than the browser experience but my usage and preferences don't change between the app and browser so below are some suggested enhancements for your consideration:

• View profile

  • remove Bimmerpost app logo and replace with avatar but make the allocated pixel area smaller for the avatar
  • left-justify username so it isn't truncated
  • show whether the user is online - could be done using background or font colours, e.g. green is online and red (or default white) is offline. Alternatively, use background colour on the Posts / Join Date block to indicate online/offline status
  • show user's current activity if online, otherwise the last date/time the user was online
  • link for posts / started threads

• Auto-populate the quoted PM/post in any reply
• Provide an option to not show your signature
• PMs - left swipe to delete
• Minimalistic landscape mode - we need more screen realestate in landscape mode

  • remove bimmerpost banner, toolbar and title bar
  • remove bottom navigation panel and replace with translucent navigation arrows (or on have navigation arrows in portrait mode)

• Change navigation arrow to be more inline with iOS7 styling (Apple URL - may not be retained indefinitely) - there were already some other comments regarding its anatomical resemblance so perhaps simply use the following (or the iOS7 equivalent of):

On my iPhone/iOS app my attachments are shown twice or repeated. On my post linked below it shows up fine on desktop and mobile browser but in the iOS app I see one of the pics showing up twice. It seems like the app is displaying one image on its own apart from the ones I am displaying using the attach tag. I'm running the latest iOS and bimmerpost version on iPhone 11 max pro but have noticed this in the past on my iPhone X also. I created the post on my laptop:

EDIT: Just realized I deleted that post, my new post looks fine on the iOS app as well as mobile and desktop browsers. I wonder what was different with the previous one, maybe the size difference played some part? Let me know if you guys want me to replicate it, I can use the same pics in a similar manner as before.

Please hire someone to maintain and update the app, it's one of the biggest assets to Bimmerpost, yet receives the least management.

I'm having the hardest time with attachments, as well as notifications.
