What did you expect? You went all "American Pie" in one of our poutines in the full sight of one of our Mounties. I mean I know poutine is warm and enveloping, but stick to apple pie next time and we won't have to ban you.
Just sayin. |

Going more meta and soft here, but I need some damn new friends that I can trust these days. I can't afford spending more time and energy on/in people that are going to just disappoint or hurt me.
Humans are the best and worst part of the human experience.

I really should start a build thread, because the ideas get crazier by the minute in our early planning process!
I want to be able to drive a car into the kitchen to unload groceries. The other day, my DW was running the vacuum through our current living room, and cursing the height of electrical outlets. She said that we should install the outlets in the barndominium at waist height, so we don't have to bend down. I'm pretty sure that NEC dictates outlet height to be one hammer-length above the floor, but there's nothing stopping us from dangling a retractable reel extension cord down from the rafters specifically for vacuum cleaner use. This led me to think about robot vacuum cleaners, which would never work in our current (small) house because the floor space is too covered with furniture. What if we hung all of the furniture from the rafters, so that the robot vacuum had 100% clear floor to roam? On an episode of Top Gear, Jeremy Clarkson had put together a mood board with pictures of things to inspire him. I'm doing a similar thing, sticking pictures and post-it notes of design ideas like the retractable extension cord reel on the back of our computer room door so that we don't forget them.....

We don’t desperately need one, but need a new roof in the not too distant future. Got the money for it, but they have gone up in price 25% or so in the last couple of years so really don’t want to spend the money and not sure if this pricing is temporary or the new normal, only to continue to escalate. To top it off, there are some houses in my neighborhood spending 2-3 mos. in partial replacement state due to material and labor shortages. Oh, and if a tropical storm or Hurricane occur, the warranty is voided.
All that makes me want to squeeze out at least another year and hope for a hurricane bad enough to get insurance to buy me a roof but not so bad to wreck everything else. But that’s been my strategy for the last few years.

I need a Ferrari 458.
I suppose I COULD afford it.. but it would pretty much destroy my early retirement plans.

I even configured Porsche GT4RS during lunch, might be better than the upcoming C8 Z06.

Haha got you hooked even worse than me. Only things I've actually gone and tried to build are an Emira and a G82 (mostly for 'science'). GT4RS is just such an insane car and allegedly ISN'T going to be a super limited production.

I’m not worried about it being exclusive.
I just drive on the track with guys that have Porsche RS and cup cars.

I NEED a new house. But with the pandemic & low inventory its been a little rough. Starting to see prices come down and more choices so hopefully beginning of next year we can get it done. Other than that I have damn near everything I want...the rest of the stuff is not a necessity and I'll get it when I get it

And also, 5 pin bowling at the Palladium..., it's not my fault nobody mentioned that you're not supposed to throw the ball overhand. Admittedly, in my will, when I die, I'm to be buried under a pile of poutine. The USA needs more poutine! |

Trust? Other people? Aw....you haven't learned yet. Trust is relative and most people are only interested in spending time with you if it benefits them somehow. Learn to enjoy time by yourself. It's worth it, but a must. This only gets worse as you get older. Putting faith in other's gets more and more difficult as you age....or is it that people get less and less interested pretending to be trustworthy as they age? Regardless people will always come and go.
