I mentioned it in a previous post, but I placed an order with NattyShirts about a month ago. Prices were insanely cheap for a MTM shirt, but I had heard several good things so I took a chance.

The first trial shirt came in about 10 days after ordering. Fit was better than I expected and the shirt quality was respectable.

Their basic fabrics run $30 and their “premium” fabrics are $40. The basic fabric certainly isn’t anything to write home about, but it’s at least respectable. Their premium fabric isn’t going to win any awards, but it’s worth the extra $10.

Conclusion: At $30-$40/shirt, I’d highly recommend them for anyone who has unusual measurements. The fit was spot on with the measurements I gave them and the quality is certainly good enough to warrant the price. If an OTR (off the rack) shirt fits you good then there are obviously better quality options for the price, but you can’t beat $30-40 shipped for a MTM that fits very good.

Measurements note:

Chest- They say to take your measurement relaxed. If you have a large chest like me, I'd suggest taking the measurement after taking a normal breath and holding it in. My chest is about 43" relaxed, but about 46" when I take a normal breath.

Bicep- If you want a shirt that looks pretty fitted in the arms, you might take an inch (or even 2) off your relaxed measurement. I ordered a slim fit shirt and even took 1" off my measurement and it was still very relaxed in the arms.

Neck- You may consider adding an extra half inch if you like a little extra room in the neck. My shirt fit perfect, but I had them add the half inch on the other shirts.

Box width/shoulders- fit was spot on (My shoulders are 3" wider than most OTR shirts which is why most OTR shirts fit like shit for me).
Wrist- fit was spot on
Shirt length- fit was spot on
Waist- fit was spot on
Sleeves- fit was spot on

Funny reading this, but I was recently in Hong Kong and I couldnt walk one block without being hit up by numerous guys trying to make me a custom suit.

I almost got tempted but it was a short trip and didnt have time to test it on before I left.
They were willing to ship but I wasnt going to take the chance.

i do however know that he travels around to events in diff states, you can check out his webpage and see whats up. His suits are $$$ fit like a glove and his custom shirts are $$$ as well…

i am a 44s. ALL my suits need to be tailored heavily because i have big shoulders and chest and then the pants are just a PITA. I have large legs too and im only 5'5". Austin Burke is where i buy all my suits and get my alterations done. Picked up 10 suits between me and my uncle ; mix of Baroni and Zanetti for under $3000. I can vouch for the one in Miami but i believe they have other loations. The one here in Miami does a couple of the Miami Heat players.

My dad is a customer tailor here in LA. Too bad he is getting old in age, and his eyes are not helping him as much. It's a dying breed of work; that's why I chose a different profession.

But, he used custom-tailor a suit to people that have different shape. It's not easy, but he did it.

Black Lapel www.blacklapel.com is the place to go for M2M suits.

Proper Cloth www.propercloth.com is the place to go for M2M shirts.

I use both. Hope that's helpful.

Nothing compares to bespoke but there are some very good mtm shops out there. Remember that mtm isn't perfect because they are still using stock sizes and recutting it for your measurements which is why you end up with a lot of follow up adjustments

I use mysuitny and Louis Purple in NYC and have been very happy - once they got the adjustments right. Both have a lot of bespoke finishes without the bespoke price

I order custom suits from my.suit in NYC. They're excellent and allow me to choose every single detail and their fabrics are excellent. Whatever you do, stay away from Mens Wearhouse (I do have a couple for the lighter days when I don't see many people), BB, Jos Banks, or any of those places where you buy 1 and get 18 items free.

Depending on the style and fabric, my.suit suits go from $500 and then $750 and $1000 and up.

The first time I had to go up to NYC for measurements and they keep it in their database. I just go online and order from now on and they ship it. Excellent peoples too.

I have not used them because fortunately enough the Banana Republic Monogram Line of suits are a perfect fit for me (Thank God) so I don't have to pay the absorbent amount for a customer tailored suit. I think they charge around $1,300.

If you have SuitSupply near you, they do amazing work with made-to-measure. It's as close to bespoke without the bespoke process

They also have the best selection of fabrics I've ever seen.
