The big advantage of a tiny house as long as it is on wheels is property tax, if you live in an area with high property tax, putting a tiny house with wheel allows you to live there an not pay property tax on the house, only the land, and usually land taxes are very low until you put a permeant structure on the land. This is like those people who built floating homes on the rivers in Oregon and Washington, there is currently no tax law on the books to allow those types of homes to be tax like a regular home attached to the ground.

I have a brother in law who lives in a tiny house also. He just refers to it as a "single wide" though.

I just don't get the whole "living in a trailer parked at my buddy's house with three cars out front" mentality. But hey, to each their own.

Isn't that what tiny houses are anyway? Used to be when you lived in a trailer people told you to get your shit together and threatened to take your kids, now you see families of 5 moving into 200 sqft and "it's like, the green revolution, man." |

Sorry mate, and not trying to be disrespectful here, but nothing about his story is inspirational. Inspirational would be if he sold his condo and his cars in order to buy a house for his elderly parents, and with no money left, had no other choice but to live in a trailer in the front lawn of his buddy's house. Now that I would tip my hat to. |

Actually, Food Trucks date way back before the Mexican's popularized them, they were always a big thing in Philly for a long time. I can not say for all cities but I personally never saw them in other cities before seeing them in Philly, saw food carts but not the trucks. They were mostly immigrants from eastern EU and middle eastern countries running them. Quite a number of them were run by the Greeks. They were my favor place to have lunch during college verse eating in the School Café. I agree the hipsters think they came up with the idea, all they did was put vinyls on the outside and charge restaurant prices and this some how made the food taste better. Oh lets not forget they offer Vegan, no GMO's, GF, and the list goes on.
