As far as the race, a TC can be fast. I had mine produce over 250rwhp with a bolt-on turbo kit and a catback. With mods, there is actually a remote chance of a TC keeping up with a 335.

coming from the tC community I can tell you that there are plenty of rides fully capable of hanging with a 335. Most turbocharged tC's run mid 13's including the obvious disgusting wheel spin and wheel hop from the fwd. Trap speeds around 105-110mph. Turbocharged tC's with good tunes and a few other mods are easily low 13's and are now hitting the 12's. So don't count them all out...

that said, yes, most of the tC's out there carry their factory wings and body kits, CAI, and catback exhaust around town thinking their car can hang with a335 because they almost beat a civic si...and that has vtec yo!!!

i wouldn't say theres plenty, maybe 1 or 2%, theres always a few who put the money into their car to make it considerably faster, but they are few and far between, never seen one at the track nor any of the local get togethers

another story, I was driving a C55 last year and this hooked up 4door Accord came up next to me at 65mph revving up his engine. I looked over at him, as he downshifted to trying to race me. I then simply stomped on my pedal and waved my hand through the back window as i put many many yards on him till around 130mph. then my mother asked how come that car fell back after making a lot of noise?

Single Turbo ZPI turbo kit, which essentially is probably the best stock bolt on turbo kit for the scions, with downpipe upgrades, exhaust upgrades, engine damper upgrades, slicks, and a cage puts up a 14.4 sec track time @ 97mph.

There's no way that a scion, can reliably, street driven every day daily driver can keep up with a 335i. Put an exhaust on the 335, give it some slicks, chip it..whatever you want and you'll be pulling semi trailers on the scion.

I'm sorry, but to be able to keep up with the 335i on a single turbo in a scion with a bolt on kit you're talking about running at least 20-27psi.

My theory is that these guys read the specs on the 325i automatic, non-sport and then assume that every 3 Series they see is a 325i. I de-badged my 335i. But Jesus... The thing looks lowered stock, has dual exhaust, enough to fool most non car people and even a few that are, it's an M3. If nothing else, it quite obviously has some shit under the hood. The stance of a Titanium silver 335i with blacked out windows is obvious enough. The Scion owners as a group are weird, far out wack jobs and usually Liberals. Liberals by the way, are not normally car people....
