I lift my miserable body out of bed every morning to tackle the next depressing task at hand!
Wait, what thread are we in? Grammar Nazi!

SixBanger: I had a real hard live the first 25/30 years as well (don't want to write my horror story in here though), so I can imagine your feelings. Maybe it helps a bit, when I explain how I got stronger.
What worked for me: - don't take words serious, the whole world is lying, or just doesn't tell it all. - don't care what others (might) think. - the ten most important things in life is YOU! (With kids, this surely changes) - say what you think, no matter what might happen. - don't try to help everyone unless you are 100% strong yourself. You will loose to much energy while helping, if you're weak. My life started at around 30. Now I'm 45 and achieved all and more I ever dreamed of. In just 15 years, including learning a job, studying, make good money, raise a family, build two houses, getting real strong (mental and physical). From your story, I'm sure you are a strong man already and you can improve real quick. Disclaimer: sorry, English isn't my first language. |

You have no idea what that whole thing meant esp via the 5 yr old, it could be anything. Don't make assumptions and turn this into a "Three's Company" type of misunderstanding. Since it bothers you, why don't you smoothly inject your situation into the conversation sometime and see how they react directly (instead of relayed by some little kid), e.g. "...man, you guys have it great and I'm still living w/ my mom haha...".
I srsly doubt they bad-mouthed you, maybe they were discussing out of concern, esp if they are fully-aware of your health situation. |

Everyone has their own opinions on when children should leave the house on be on their own.
Therefore, you will get every opinion under the rainbow. I know of one situation where a married couple who made $50k...per month were living with the in laws. People are all at different places in the lives with a different ultimate goal. (married couple has since purchased their own house) You have a full time job. As you saving money and being financially responsible? The only time I feel living at home is something to be ashamed about is if you are living there because you NEED to live there because you are being irresponsible in other areas of life. Stack gouda/cheddar or whatever the young bucks are saying these days and live with moms. Start slow to come out ahead. Too many people think they need to be on their own for some sort of pride. However, that pride never amounts to motivation leading them to more financial success ultimately causing them to be forever poor. (ask me how I know) |

I do think the child overheard the parents but perhaps it wasn't even a negative conversation. They probably are just hoping that you can eventually move out sooner rather than later for your own sake. I believe they do really care about you so try not to focus on those few words spoken by a little kid. And continue living with your mom as long as you financially need to. Don't feel bad about it.

We understood that. We understand that's also not true.

I guess it depends where you work. I can't imagine the majority of pharmacy techs making over $20 an hour at say ....rite aid or Walgreens. However, there are places that will pay significantly more.

give you an example one year Halloween i brought my son (he was four maybe) to trick or treat, we started out with our next door neighbor. when my neighbor opened her door, my son got a peek of the inside of her house and said, "oh, your house is really small compared to ours!" i never commented about sizes of neighbors' houses so it was just his observation. i can imagine if my neighbor wants to read into it, there is reason for her to get upset on what he said. but i think we just shrug our shoulder and went on... kids just say whatever come up to their mind sometimes... |

She’s a Walgreens and i know Walmart is the only other retailer that pays more. It’s sad because some techs know more than a pharmacist but with 1/4 of what they make.
