Just saw Ip Man 3...good stuff. Strained in a couple of parts but I love to watch Donny's technique. Fantastic!

Any other recommendations with him?

Available on Netflix:

Kung Fu Killer
Special ID
Ip Man, Ip Man II
Flash Point (incredible fight sequence at end, incorporating BJJ)

These are my favorites. If you like these, then you can venture onto others.

Donnie yen makes awesome movies. I remember the first time I saw him was Once Upon A Time in China, with Jet Li as WONG FEI HUNG!

IP Man series is good but it's too much of the Chinese knockoff of Rocky for my tastes.

When watching, you have to turn on cantonese with english sub-titles as opposed to those stupid english dub-over voices that are just SO BAD.

Raid is personally my all time favorite action film. Hand to hand combat and some gun/knife play. Awesome movie.

here's some Korean films to consider. Fighter in the wind, City of violence and War of arrows.. there are more but i've seen so many movies in my younger days that they're all jumbled up in my head. and my memory seems to come in short spurts..

The Ip Man movies, especially the first and second, are great movies and Donnie yen is brilliant in those. Thanks for the other references, I'll try to track those down.

Some of my favs:

- Shaolin Kung Fu, Kung Fu Hussle (Stephen Chow From memory): just so much humour and humanity, it's impossible not to love those. Both do the impossible and take the royal piss out of Kung fu movies while being almost entirely about Kung fu.
- Tai Chi Master (Jet Li): very high quality, tells of the dramatic parting of ways of two gifted Shaolin monks expelled from the temple.
- The 36th Chamber movies: golden old school Shaolin movies, there's a couple of them at least in the series, not sure which one is the best, been a long time.
- Drunken Master, the great one where Jackie Chan owns hard. There's been a few and again, not sure which one is the one to go for.
- Warlords ( Jet Li) tells the story of three guys who join the army to try and do something about their fate. Just amazing, huge production, great movie.

Surprised Ong Bak isn't mentioned at all.

Also:
House of Flying Daggers
Flash Point (The Donnie Yen movie not the series)
Rurouni Kenshin
Seven Samurai
Police Story 1 and 2 (Jackie Chan Classic)

Seven Samurai... One of my all time favorites, should have been in my list.

Ong Bak I liked for its spectacular moves, but it's not one I want to watch multiple times.

There should be more 80-90's movies in here.
Dreadnaught, movies with the younger Sammo Hung and that trio with Jackie Chan in their younger days.
