Hate to break this to you all but the Feds already allow a certain amount of insects to be a part of our food supply. You just don't see it. And to guarantee insect free food that goes through any type of processing is impossible or cost prohibitive.

If you're trying to compare this in any way to mass farming of cockroaches for human consumption then you've confused me.

I'm not comparing this to the mass farming of insects for direct consumption. I made the comment based on the posts that are saying...ewww....to consuming in this case cockroaches and other insects. As everyone is consuming some type of insect already in the foods they eat. People just don't know it.

This is 100% accurate. I work in a food manufacturing facility and this is true. Thirty or more insect fragments or rodent hairs are acceptable in 100 grams of food according to the FDA.

Less mob hit and more like lazy, careless or drug induced accidents at work. No one likes to discuss it but it does happen. After accidents happen, although there are regulations and standard operating procedures in place, humans are the ones who clean up the aftermath and we all know how infallible we are.

So who has actually eaten bugs? I've had grubs before, they were dead it was in asia and they were vaguely like meat. They looked mostly inoffensive and edible though. Roaches scream "not to be combined with human"
