What do I mean? I mean that whenever I've stayed at hotels (not all, but many), water gets all over the damn place and makes a mess. I've been in a couple that are just designed terribly, including one that had a toilet next to the open area of the shower that also got drenched with water. I was even being careful to try not to get water everywhere! Housekeeper or not, I don't like walking around in water when I get out of the shower.

So yeah, I don't like their fondness towards half-assed showers. Lol.

Rental curtains always, ALWAYS end up with holes in the wall, after the (now bent) rod has been mashed and re-located several times in the 8 months since the tenant moved in. I bolt that rod to the stud and it's STILL screwed up. It's NOT a stripper pole!!!

Lol, no. With some of those damn bathrooms in German hotels there is NO way you can prevent water from getting all over the floor. Trust me, I tried because I did not want to have to use up all the clean towels for soaking up water that shouldn't be there to begin with. I'll take a damn shower curtain any day over those stupid half glass barricades. I swear to god some of them are probably even less than half the shower stall in length. Maybe 1/3. Ridiculous. Right Alfisti ?

If you go with glass, I recommend sealing it before you use the shower. (You can seal later too but glass needs to be perfectly clear or you will seal in water spots.). You can use RainX but I got this stuff, which it holds up really well and makes cleaning easy:

Combine using the sealant and using Method Daily Shower and you won’t even need to squeegee.

It can be anything. Floor literally sloped AWAY from the drain so it runs out the shower which doesn't have a lip, just a flat floor to floor transition. Or yeah no curtain and 2 ft high separation wall so splash everywhere etc. At least half the bathrooms I have been in through europe, and I have been to a LOT of places, are hilariously bad at containing the water within the damn shower.

I hate shower curtains so much it's unreal. Makes the shower colder which means you turn the water hotter so you have to directly stand under it to stay warm, and it's a delicate balance of water temperature versus the stupid air blowing in. I'm a fan of fully closed glass showers with a vent at the top to control the amount of air. You can't beat a nice steam shower.

Problem with the glass ones is that you have to squeegee when you're done unless you like having having water spots or residue on the glass. Who has time for that crap?

Anyway, I now have a rough floor plan for the bathroom/shower area that I think makes sense...and is an improvement over the usual designs.....

So depending on where your showerhead is positioned, it may come down at an angle, or straight down, correct?

My showerhead has a bit of an angle to it and that's even with some adjustment and having a removable wand (don't forget to remove the water restrictor for more pressure), therefore, if I stand directly under it, the other person with me will get no water and be cold since its cold everywhere else. If I crank up the temperature a bit, I can't be under the water for more than a couple seconds because it's too hot, but it'll steam a bit so the temperature inside is a bit better.

Also the water pressure in my shower sucks. Bathtub right next to it is fine, but the shower blows.

You are right, this had encountered to me too and trust me, after visiting more crew hotels than I had spent time into them as a tourist, I know the downsides very well.
Nontheless, if you are knowing the negative facts about, you're be able to prevent yourself into your bathroom by constructing the shower and its negative downfall to the right side.
