The 135i was the first car I purchased completely on my own...

But I do regret the E46 325i my parents bought for me years ago (7 yr old car at the time). Only because I learned they paid way too much for that car

No no, the A6 is quite a horrible car in fact. Very good regret choice. My folks had one and it was a vile and disgusting car, only thing that made it worse was driving it.

I wouldn't say the C7 (2012+) was vile and disgusting....It was actually quite nice...in fact too nice. The seats were damn comfy, the supercharged V6 pulled like a monster, it had a great ride, the full LED headlights we dope, the Bose system was banging, and the Quattro system never let me down.

That said, it was emotionless. Steering in sport felt softer than butter; literally zero feedback. The racing games at ChuckeeCheezez have considerably better feedback than the Audi. The brakes pedal and gas pedal were too close to each other, which made driving with my winter shoes quite cumbersome. And speaking of the brakes, they worked but man there was soooo much fucking play with the pedal.

Throttle response in comfort blew; in Dynamic (as Audi calls it) the throttle response improved but the transmission programming sucked. The tip-tronic semi shifting is backwards IMO (push up to shift up and pull down to downshift). The gear lever, though nice in the hand, reminded me of a Buick.

The Audi MMI system is absolutely garbage. Don't care what anyone who owns an Audi tells me, it is absolute trash compared to i-Drive and mBrace 2. The scroll wheel action is reversed (counter-clockwise to moved up, clockwise to move down). On cold days it would take forever for the screen to pop-out of the dashboard, and when it finally did it would take another 5 minutes before anything really worked.

Reliability wise, it was fine. Drank oil, but so have my other cars. I had it in Aviator blue, really stunning color in the sun. Held my luggage when I went on road trips. Gave me 30mpg while still managing 85mph average. And it had room for people too. Ohh and butt heaters were off the chain. Butt blowers are probably the worst I've ever experienced. Made so much noise, but barely moved any air up my ass.

Still, that car had memories with it. Can't knock it completely down, but I will say I regretted it. A 5-series was definitely the superior choice back then. I think the only reason I went for it was because I wanted an RS4, but Audi stopped making them for the US years before.

Now that was a car.

2006 Infiniti FX35 - first and last lease. Cool truck but after a while looked like a boot to me. Also, not a fan of payments of any kind.

2012 GL450. Not because we did not like it. When I brought it home, wife thought I went with the GL63. I am still bummed about that one

MKV GTI. Get an automatic they said, its dual clutch they said, its faster than a manual they said, all the cool kids are doing it they said, fuck them! The car itself was great but ended up selling it after a year or two because automatics are boring and this was my fun car.

VW CC. Now I'm not sure if this is a CC issue or if it was an issue with my particular car, but that damn thing bounced like a pogo stick. The suspension was sooo soft the plastic shielding under the car were all ripped to shreds. Oh and can anyone say turbo laaaaaaag. I could smash the gas and get through my XL DD coffee before that shit would take off.

335i. That damn thing spent more time at the dealer than at my house. Now this may be a combo of both the car being unreliable and the BMW dealer being a pos and usually causing more damage than what they fixed. Anyways that car was cursed. Even the dealer crashed it.

Standouts in order of awesomeness:

Z4M best BMW ever made, suck it.
FRS great little car super fun to drive balls to the wall and only be doing 50mph.
128i liked it more than my 335i. Changed my thinking to prefer NA over FI and haven't looked back since (except for that little CC fiasco).

Will withhold comments on the Camaro and Cadillac until I've owned them for a bit longer.

No question about it... 1994 Isuzu Rodeo. I swear the spare tire frame was already rusted by the time I drove it home new from the dealer. Noisy, leaked water from every door in a rainstorm and ate tires like bears on doughnuts. That buy may have been one of my weaker moments. Zero down. Zero interest. 10% off invoice. There's one born very day.

Best ever- first Porsche. 2003 base Boxster. Never drove that car without a stupid grin pasted across my face.

1999 Range Rover (in 1999). It never had enough leg room for me, the low windows made me feel like I was on display. I hated the seats, i felt like I was lumbering along all the time even when I was going fast. I must have been high when I test drove it. My first oil leak 14 months later at 18k miles and I traded it in.

I don't really have any regrets but rather a humiliation.

I lost my way in college and partied my way off the Dean's List and out of Honor's College and in the ensuing time was involved in a wreck which totaled my Scirocco MK II (not my fault). I wanted a new car and my parents were having none of it. My dad packed me into a work truck on an early Saturday morning and took me to the state surplus auction to choose my 'new' car. No shit.

A gleaming refrigerator white, Ford Escort wagon. It was incredibly horrible. They made me drive it for a year until I got my crap together.

I'll never forget when someone came up to me and said mockingly, 'Well, it looks like they've slowed you down a little bit".

It spurred me to get my ass back on track.

I've owned 2 Honda products: Acura Legend LS and an Accord with V-tec engine. The Accord was completely accurate while the Legend was just about the same as the 2 BMW 5 series that we have owned.

Regret: 2008 Lexus LS, purchased because expected to be very high quality / low problem car that turned out to be the worst POS I've owned. Problems with paint (never resolved), brakes (never resolved), speakers, seat belts (wore out twice) culminated in week+ long stay at dealer for internal engine component recall. I knew it would be boring to drive but the lack of quality was shocking after driving Lexus for 14 years. Dumped in less than 3 years.

Best: M4 (current car) - just a lot of fun to drive and see when I open the door to the garage. Plus, good deal from being patient.

Second Best: 1994 Lexus ES - first brand new car (all previous were used) and first non-American car was eye opening difference. Definitely not a sports car but it was a great car for me at that point.

But it was just so damn ugly... And those 15" 3 split-spoke wheels!!!!

If my memory serves me right, those were basically V6 Camry's with nicer interiors. I still know some fellow Indians who rock both. Great cars.

He didn't have the personalized plates though:
