I've also learned what kinds of things Wifey will obsess about, so I avoid those subjects. For instance we have a couple of outdoor semi-feral cats. If one of them is looking in the front window when I'm going to bed and I say something, Wifey will start wondering if the cat is cold or hungry or why it's looking in. Eventually she'll get up to go feed it even though there is already food out. So I keep my mouth shut.

I don't consider either of those things to be dishonest, though. I'm just withholding my thoughts.
Yeah that's different. I've learned similar things along the way, whether it be women or work, some things are better left unsaid as a whole.

I had an instance yesterday where I went out with the fluid integraters to the plant for lunch. We were sitting around and I was joking around saying "So when are you and your guys gunna get off your ass and clean up that back area?" I got this cold stare and he said "Hey. Shut the fuck up, Will".

I got up with his boss and went to the salad bar and he said "I had to hold in my laughs, I don't know what his deal is but he's reaaaally sensitive about the stock room for the bins in back".

We had a good laugh, but now I know just to not say anything at all. Sheesh.

So this thread reminded me of a little time I hung out with a friend and his cousin, female. As we left, she says to me, "see you next time" or something similar. Without thinking I just said, "probably not."

Honest. Not tactful, but honest.

I'd say I'm somewhere around a 7-8. Most people do know me as an open book, and save for important/confidential details (such as SSNs or trade secrets), I really don't have that much to hide.

I'm not that great at lying on the spot, nor can I really remember my back story if someone asks me about it later, so yeah... The only thing I do at the most is either put the truth in a different context, pretend to go along with the subject, or not say anything about it at all... The only times I DO full on lie is either if I have plenty of time to think of a back story and manifest it in my mind that it is indeed what happened, something that I am almost 100% won't be pursued (e.g. walking past beggars and saying I'm flat broke when I actually have $$$ in my pocket), or if it's telling an S/O that those jeans don't make her look like the Goodyear blimp.

I voted 7 but after reading comments about withholding information vs straight up lying I didn't look at it that way. If that were the case I would probably be closer to 8 cause I just don't comment a lot of the time to avoid unnecessary conflict and, for the sake of honestly, I just don't give a shit.

I'll tell her no. My mom knows that's how i am Lol. But more than likely i won't care about the gift. It's her effort to buying me the gift that counts.

If a nice fat girl asked me if she looked fat in a dress, i'll respond with a "hell yes". You better find another dress or drop some pounds.

Here here! I'm sorry but, if you don't want an honest answer, don't ask an honest question.

My anger allows me to be more honest. I can feel myself start to let loose a little bit more the more people irritate me.

The honest answer to does this dress/pants/skirt etc make me look fat is ALWAYS no.

Because it's your fat that makes you look fat not the article of clothing (unless you're wearing a parachute I suppose).

Haha! I guess the question should be "does this outfit make me look fatter?" And if it does, you should say "ummm, maybe you should change".

The answer is no, you make your outfit look fat would be my typical answer. I wonder why my wife is pissed at me all the time. Maybe a backhand is in order.

Jokes people. Before someone calls me out as a wife beater. Never closed fist.
