Disney won't always be fun for you, but for your kids it will be like an unbelievable experience - plus you will enjoy it alot more if you choose to see everything through their vantage point, does that make sense? Have fun! When that perspective started to click in my brain leading up to the trip, it took a ton of pressure off of me to go try and enjoy everything as if the trip was somehow about me, it wasn't. And I ended up enjoying the trip alot more I believe because I got to share in their excitement. All of it was new for them and an exciting adventure for them.

sound advice... that's probably been my biggest struggle raising kids - seeing things from their vantage point.

I go to Weather Spark to deep-dive weather data. Below is what it shows year-round for Orlando's humidity and dew point. This is the page it came from (with tons more year-round Orlando weather data on it): https://weatherspark.com/y/17721/Ave...tes-Year-Round

You’re coming during the best time of year for the weather. Could potentially feel very cold but highly doubtful you’ll be hot or uncomfortable - my birthday is in Feb it’s always stunning outside here then.

I just came from Disney and as someone who has been 5x in my life you have way to much sit down dining. You will likely come back here and complain how expensive it was for what you got.

Disney food is if you can imagine a MLB or NFL stadium food 2x. You don't want to spend that. I don't care if you have Kardashian money there is not ONE place to eat in Disney which you will rave about spending the money on.

Yeah... I'm fully anticipating the cost. I had to prepay to reserve Cinderella's royal table and the price is definitely outrageous. While I have the reservations, we can cancel up to 2 hours in advance. So if we're not feeling like going out more than once a day, we can just cancel. But wanted to at least have the options available to us. I've never in my life eaten at a Disney sit down restaurant. So it'll be a unique experience. And if it isn't... I'll just cancel.

I would disagree. Disney food, especially at nicer places, is not cheap; but the cost isn't much worse than any other of the nicer restaurant that we go to. And there are certainly places that you will rave about the food. Even more so when you put it in the context of being theme park food!

Let's look at say Le Cellier just for one example... a rib-eye is $59 and a filet is $62. I pay basically the same when I go to nicer steakhouse.

Just my two cents... Feel quite free to disagree

I'll add that where I find the cost definitely exceeds the food quality is the character dining. But in this case you have to go in with the thought that it is about the experience, not the food!

January/February will be just fine. Temps should be in the between the low 60s to low 70s or so. Humidity will be low. However, I live about 90 minutes northeast of Disney and on the Atlantic coast. I hope you and your family have a fabulous time!!!

@wtwo3 are you guys getting into countdown mode with just one week to go

I got woken up at 4:00 AM this morning by a text from United saying they are changing our plane for the trip out (it was a 737 Max 9) and that all of our seating had been changed. At least the schedule stayed the same!

We sure are. Just had a call yesterday with our vacation planner about some last minute specifics, but overall at this point we just need to pack and be ready to go. TBH my initial despair about Disney has turned into a bit of excitement. My daughter has been asking questions nonstop about it.

I've got a built in vacation planner for a wife (not her job). She maps all the stuff out in Excel and all I have to do is pretend I'm listening when she bounces things off me and occaisonally help in getting things like dining reservations

It's the opposite for us - I'm the planner and my wife just goes along with everything. But in this case the whole disney vacation planner was a great option especially for free.... just little things that i would have never known about like booking reservations 2 months in advance if you really want to do some of the signature character dining (almost impossible to get reservations just weeks away).

I am the planner, my wife then pays no attention, wants a sayin everything but makes no decisions, leaves everything to the last minute then cannot understand why it is so expensive.

It once took me 3 weeks to get her to confirm a return date for a trip as the 18th or 19th of March.

Nightmare.

My problem is that at times she will overplan to the point of not making a decision. Then I have to step and say just book the damn thing!
