That’s without Tax. It was like $1,756 or something.

damn, why your M4C windshield so cheap?!?

I got mine chipped yesterday. Brought the M550i to Safelite for a quick fix. 40 min later, they told me they cracked my windshield.

Dealer wants $3200!!!
Safelite will do $1750 (BMW glass) after $200 discount for breaking my car.
Geico wants nothing to do with me if I go with the dealer and $750 from me if I go with Safelite, doesn't matter Safelite is giving me a discount or not!

The whole day has been nothing less than a nightmare so far.

yea, crazy! You can fix chipped glass very easily nowadays. The concept is you create either vacuumed space around the chipped area and apply resin so it can get as deep as possible into the cracks or just apply pressure to push the resin into the glass. The DIY kit is like $15 and take 10 min. At Safelite, they have a device connected to an air compressor. My best guess is they applied too much pressure during the process. From a small tiny rock chip, high up & out of my vision, I now have a 20" crack across my windshield ))))

Could have used the DIY kit but I thought it's better to let the pros take care of it )

The M4 has PPF including the Windshield. / I don't drive my M car in the rain or at night. It's a weekend car if the sun is out! If it's not a Sunny day in Southern California, I'm not driving it.
